	I agree with speedymatt72, it has to do with escape, from yourself, the world or anything, then you create a game-world where everything is just perfect, such a beautiful lie.

	i think what he's sayin is that life, who you are, and every1 and everything n it is just a game. maybe someone really scewed u (i.e. in a relationship)-now they're gone, and ur alone with all the pain and lies and broken trust and regret mixed w/anger swirlling around in ur head, hindering ur life(game). if u want something different, do something different...let it go...wash away what happened-"lie" to urself if u must. Everyone else does! Its just a game...a beautiful lie.

	MrFokker- that's a great opinion; i like to look at life like an RPG coz there's VERY little difference... This is my take on the song: "try to let go of the truth; the battles of your youth; coz this is just a game"- Leto speaks such pivotal truths about the life of mortality. And i agree with MusicIsTheSoul (great screen name) for the most part; personally i wouldn't say he's saying life sucks by the lie makes it beautiful.I think he's saying that everything in existence is a lie; an illusion- but its beautiful by nature.

	For me, what he's saying in this song is, when you "escape" from reality, it's a lie, basically. But, it's a beautiful lie because it's not real and everything's perfect. His reality and his escape are starting to blend together and he keeps reminding himself that this is not all real and that life is not perfect like he wants it to be. Call me insane, but, when I first read the lyrics to this song, I was reminded of the song "Imaginary" by Evanescence [no, I'm not saying they're anything like Evanescence]. Excellent song, by the way.

	I love this song, when I first heard it I thought it was about a fake relationship, getting married for the wrong reasons and living with the consequences, which kinda means lying to yourself about your life, in one way or another. I don't know why I thought that, I'm not married ahah nor will I ever be married. this is my second favorite on the album. the kill is definetly my favorite.

	I agree with MrFokker and MusicalSoul...because like to me...its relates to me as well...in my words..this is about actually taking a lie and believing in it you know...actually believing that maybe your life is just one big thing of a screw up or something...but believing in it makes things seem less hectic and more beauitful...its like sometimes i feel as if im watching myself sometimes from my inner spirit...like i feel like this is the future me and i am in an coma watching everything happen and i think to myself what a beauitful lie...its like being in a video game..and your running from all the bad things...but to you, you make it real although its a lie its not real..but its beauitful because u believe so much in it..

	I think the beginning is saying how if you lie at bed thats when you regroup yourself and think of everything that happened that day or even past days. You realize your mistakes and all the things you had to go through hence battles of your youth.... The next part of that its a beautiful lie expresses that you live this is world of lies and yet it all comes together and its beautiful. You try to deny the person you are but it always comes back to you and you are who you are. All that stuff makes up you. It's time to forget about the past... Renew and start over..Don't always stay in the past and get ready for the future. Forget all the bad things that have happened and realize theres better things to come. Everyones looking at me... When ya kinda stand back and realize this is your life and everything/everyone that makes up it is around you is constantly watching having an effect on you. It all seems to go together while you think in your mind on what to do, but ya gotta keep your head together and realize...its just a game. Over all I think it's comparing life to a game..very simple actually. You play a game you gotta dodge things..you lose, you start over with a fresh start and don't stay in the past..you also gotta make desicions fast and keep your head in the game.

	I think "a beautiful lie" can also relate to something that's explored in the matrix, about reality. Obviously Mr Leto doesn't use this as his main subject, but when I saw the album's name, before I heard the song, that's what I thought about.

	I saw a clip of the band explaning what the song means and they say its about all the beautiful lies in life (like ciggaretes, drugs etc...) they call the beautiful lies cuz you believe them, you believe that drugs make it better, you look at comercials and wanna go out and buy it, it seems "beautiful" to you, and they are talking about escaping all the lies... 1 2 Next
