I just bought this album an hour and a half ago. I got home an hour ago. Fleshed this
out in about 10 minutes. I'm not bragging, I'm just SOOO stunned because it usually
takes me awhile to get a song done. But... I guess it's getting ok now.

That's the whole song. Parts repeat and such but you'll hear it, so
good luck with this one. I had a lot of fun with it. And I still am
having fun with it, it's awesome. Cheers!

| This is by far my favorite 311 song. I'm a little confused as to weather he's talking about someone he's involved with's problems. Or Just complaining about how she's completly out of touch with the world? (life is not tv...) Or maybe I'm just completly off all togther? | |

| Props to Mirage on finding the quote. This song IS about child sexual abuse. It is my favorite song on "Don't Tread On Me," because of the heart and soul behind it. SA proved himself to be a champ musician and lyricist on this album and that shines through on this song. Unbelievably incredible song with yet another great message behind it. In the end, it's just 1 of countless 311 songs that leave me feeling refreshed. These lyrics are a gem. It's just something that popular music won't ever be able to live up to. And lastly, I must say that I'm not the type to force my musical opinions on anyone, but i will say this: anyone who does not hear this song is robbing themselves. | |

| I think this song is about wondering what comes of us after we die, and trying to come to peace about it. | |

| I love this song so much- I agree 100% with ak11. It him thinking if there is an afterlife and the thought of life ending is so frightening that it can't get off his therefore "clouding mind." So f'cking awesome 1 | |

| I agree, there are quite a few tracks from DTOM that could be/are relating to unstable female problems, and most of them could be seen from a female's standpoint of a struggling male. Either way, this is one sick album and I don't know why everyone is criticizing it because it's not raw and edgy like the blue album and such. This album has so much music talent on it it's rediculously amazing. It's hard to understand what someone who has been sexually abused as a child is going through, as with other touchy subjects like aids or abuse in general, but SA does a good job at giving an inside perspective. I mean, what can you say to make the pain go away from someone with such a permanent scar for life? The whole "life is not TV" line is perfect, there's all these after-school specials and dramas on TV where the "man with dirty deeds" is finished off for a happy ending, but that never happens in this day and age... | |

| This song is the most amazing song on dont tread on me and i believe the most meaningful. in this song s.a spreads his heart out explaning how he feels because his friend got raped. he pours out on his emotions and tries to help her out but he dosent know wat to say and he wants to help her out and "get through to her" I love this song dude 311 is the most amazing band ever i love them 1 | |

| Really similar (the topic, not the style) to Long for the Flowers. Sounds like 311 felt like overdoing the whole unstable girl thing on this CD. Really high quality track though. | |

| Its hard to put into words how great I think this song is. SA did an incredible job with stretching his voice on this one. He also needs to be commended for a great job writing the foundation to the song musically. On the album preview on the website here's what SA said regarding this song: "There exists in this country something so deadly and prevalent, yet so taboo at the same time. It can destroy a persons sense of self, their relationships, their will to live. Chances are, you know someone who is stricken with this yet they haven't told you a single thing. However, if you were to think about it, you would find warning signs in their personality if you knew what to look for. This song is about child sexual abuse." | |
