Thanks for the “constructive” criticism I received in the comment section of this tab.
My intro and parts of my verse Rhythm were definitely wrong on my first tab and this
should be much better than before.

gee, I hope it is about a girl... "you asked me where did all that go and I have no answer I admit that I'm giving up hope and wondering if it can survive" Because if the chorus describes the old school style then whats the giving up hope part about...?

I think this song is about a girl who wants all the old superficial things in a relationship like the flowers and the lines. But all he wants is to spend time with her and enjoy her company, like that is enough for him. Also, when confronted with why he doesn't give out the superficial items anymore, he has no answer where it's like a void. Like things his love for her is dying, and he knows he should care but he just can't find the words or feelings.

no no no, this song ain't about the ppl saying 311 is turning soft, because then in the chorus nick wouldn't say "ans I have no answer" they DO have an answer, "THEY ARE EVOLVING", and that is what 311 is about, the whole new vibe you get from album to album, so I think is prob about a girl... (although miss SA rapping and scratching still luv'em!)

This song inst about a girl.. its about all the people that are saying that 311 is turning soft and how they want all the old rymes that 311 used to do. I think 311 still kicks ass but any true fan should

BrandNewEnd elaborate on what you mean, I think it could go both ways...but which does the lyrics really support...we all know Nick loves to sing about his past girlfriends.

cheese311, the music to this song was the outtake from Transistor...They polished it up a little bit and then added lyrics for Don't Tread on Me.

giving up hope in reviving whatever it is that older fans feel that 311 has lost as they've aged.

not sure what it's about. it was originally called grifter; and intstrumental demo from transistor. wonder if all the songs from don't tread on me are just instrumental demos from other albums with lyrics added to make them seem new?

I think this song definately has references to Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf. 1
