Artist: 3 Doors Down
Title: Going Down In Flames
Album: Away From the Sun
Tuning: Standard (E A D G B E)

Tabbed by: Adam (ninjaadam44@yahoo.com)

I got tired of looking for this, so I finally tabbed it out. I'll probably do
some more from the album if no one else does. I'm not going to try to show the
timing or rhythm very well, so listen to the song for that stuff. oh yeah, you need

distortion for this one :).

intro
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------||

A|--7-9--10-10--9--12--|--2-2-3-3-5-5-3-3--|
E|----------8---7--10--|----------3-3-1-1--|

in the verse you just strum and pick the individual notes of the power chords.
i was going to do a more intricate job of this tab, but decided it was a
fairly simple song, and that that would be a little overkill...

this song is about how someone is trying to tell him what to think but he's saying kinda saying they don't have the right to be telling him what to do becaues they won't help him if he screws up. it's about this never ending cycle he gets into with someone and how he hates it and how the person thinks they know a lot more than they actually do.

this is definitely one of the best songs on away from the sun... as for the meaning, it's about someone who keeps falling into the same cycle with the same person, as much as they don't want to. it's the type of relationship situation where someone is let down, swears that it won't happen again, then watches themselves as they 'fall into it' all over again. it's the point where you've succumbed to yourself when you know you'll only get hurt, and given in, even when you said you wouldn't.

To me this song about falling into depression and feeling that no one cares: "Don’t tell me what you believe Cause you won’t be there To catch me when I fall But you’ll need me when I’m not here at all" Great song.

I think this song is about a relationship and the girl, or whoever, is using him and doesn't really care about him

i think this can be interpretted as either a political song or a song about relationships with parents. 1) with politics, Don’t tell me what to think 'Cause I don’t care this time. we have so many policies around the world and to say this kind of comment is rare because a lot of us abide by the rules so we don't ruin our reputation. and the schools nowadays especially private religious schools push religion down our throats and beliefs that are far-fetched. 2) again with the same line Don’t tell me what to think Cause I don’t care this time so many times our parents tell us what we should think and over-ride our beliefs so this is sorta to tell them that "hey we're gaining independence so you won't be there to catch us when we fall."

I LOVE THIS SONG! This is one of their best songs on their cd Away From the Sun. I don't know how many times i have listened to this song, but it's just not getting old! The lyrics are good, the song itself, the music i mean, is amazing!

This song is just incredible, i never get tired of listening to it. I think this song is about the persona's relationship with someone who has taken advantage of him before, and now it's happening again.

I've kinda thought of this song as a sort of f-you to the world. Not caring what people think, and when you realize no one really cares, then you go out with a bang so people might see what they were missing
