| agree with everyone, but it's about his friend, who wishes he was like the guy who wrote this, and it's about respecting who you are as not everyone can be like you. it says "He looks up with a little smile at me, And he says, if i could be like that...." so i guess it's about a friend. Respect all you have, others may not be so lucky?? thats what i think it means. love it. | |

| I think the song is about a guy, who has a friend who has it all. And he wants to be like his friend. He wants to have what his friend has. I have a friend like that, and for a long time i wanted to see what it would be like if i were him for a day. But my life is my life and i try to make the best of it. | i like the american pie edit better. but this song is incredible. i can totally relate it to my life. it's about someone who gets the meaning of their life from other peole. the song is kind of sad but ultimately hopeful. i think it says that their are still good people in this world that we can strive to be like. | |
