im not sure what this songs about, and i dont think i ever will. but i do have some things to say about the song in general. its very good. one of theyre best. and i like the live version better. before the chorus he says "COME ONNN!!!" and thats real good. and then when he says "kryptonite", it has a ring to it, he changes the tone of his voice real fast. its hard to explain, but to hear the live version im talking about buy ANother 700 Miles, theyre live disc. its track number 4..

I think that's ridiculous (the drug thing)... This song is about friendship, an undying friendship he has with a person but they take it for granted "you call me strong you call me weak, but still your secrets i will keep" That means no matter what his friend does to him hes still there for them... The chorus is just asking if this sort of behavior will be reciprocated if the tides were turned one day

To me this song is about a guy constantly being there for his best friend but she walks all over him. I think that she is his *kryptonite*.. his strength... and no matter what she does to hurt him, he will always be there. :)

Brad said this during an interview on Launch.com: You know, I can't really think of a particular incident that inspired the song, but it's just like, I don't really like to see people put up on a pedestal a lot. "Kryptonite" is saying-- from [the point of view of one] person to that person looking up to him--"If I weren't so great to you, or whatever, would you still be there for me?"
