I hope someone decides to use this tab, I know it’s just one of those songs that you
to skip on the CD…but this song really got stuck in my head. I couldn’t find any tabs on
internet so let’s hope this one works.
Please leave a good rating, I really tried my best on this one and I think it sounds
If you have any suggestions please post a comment. Thanks!

'You meant everything,' cdhound, He's a manic depressive, the poor bloke's probably still hung up on every girlfriend he's had. English girl's aren't that bad, my girlfriend's great.

'Tall drink of water, she's a Norfolk waterfall' - Well Beth is from Norfolk - I've also felt it's about her the first time i listened to it.

Isnt this song called "English Girls Approxamently"? I think it is just talking about feeling almost led on by a girl that he completely fell for and shes just oblivious or indifferent.

A little longer than it needs to be, but damn, what a set up for the ending: "just three words my love..."

What can u say? Ryan Adams is simply an amazing singer/songwriter (especially when he sticks with this sort of genre), and this song is captivating... i just love how he gives abackground to the whole relationship and it's complexities, and has all these descriptive little lines, yet manages to sum it up so perfectly and simply at the end; "just three words my love; you meant everything". Brilliant!

In the end when he sings "you meant everything" over and over in the end, I dissolve.

This song all i do is wait for the end of it and its like one big climax finishes the song off so perfectly and leaves you wanting to listen to it over and over. such a good song.

Yeah, Beth it is. Although the irony being that Norfolk is the flattest county in the entire land, so you will most likely never ever ever find a Norfolk waterfall as it has nowhere to fall. English girls are alright deep down - funny and messy, but we have stiff upper lips. At least, we're a better chase than Americans and smarter than the Canadians.

English Girls can be and are mean. I think he wants some hugs but the English girl in question is resistant. I hate that shit.

This song is about his relationship with Beth Orton. I just figured it out. She obviously really hurt him. It would suck to be a songwriter yourself and have another songwriter (your x) write a song about you. The lyric that made me understand this was "little daybreaker" the title of her album...and then the obvious "come on Elizabeth" as in Beth and the most obvious... she's English. Ok, I need to get a life, or become a celebrity gossip writer! I'm sure her next album will have an answer to him...or maybe she's just so over it by then!

the bonus album from pre-ordering easy tiger off ryanadams.com is this song, the studio one. the one that there's a video of that looks like all the other ones that came out, only when he sings it it's like he's really going insane like "stop playing around with me, you're making me go absolutely mad"

this is my favorite song from easy tiger... i think this song deals with a guy who falls for a girl a lot sooner/stronger than she does for him. any sign or opening that she gives that something might work out, he takes as a certainty that things will work. but then he questions himself when they aren't together. but all it takes is the girl's smile to make him feel good, and forget about how he feels when they ignore him, or not show him the type of feelings he wants her to have for him. in the end he finally realizes that maybe this real girl isn't doing any good for him, and he needs to just forget about her, and think of someone new and better for him, whether they are real or not.

The most perfect thing Three words could be. Most people would expect it to be 'I Love You' but 'Just three words my love; You meant everything' changes the perspective of the relationship... He may have still carried a torch for her when he wrote this...
