| I like the music in the Aerosmith song better, but I like the way Lennon sang the original version. Either way, good song. | |

| Wow, I never realized this was a beatles song, I'll have to go check it out since I usually like most of the beatles songs. No one's comments yet have really helped me understand this song. For example, what the hell is toejam football? | |

| Damn right it's gibberish. But stunning! Absolutely stunning, and I don't think any Beatles fan would disagree with me, there. | |

| To be fair here...Aerosmith originally did this song as part of the soundtrack to the movie "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" back in 1978. It was that horrible movie with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton playing the lead characters, in other words, the alter-egos of the Fab 4. Aerosmith was the "Future Villain Band" | |

| "(beatles songs are not about drugs)" What was 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds'? LSD. Acid. DRUGS. Anyway, I like this version better than the beatles one. It just sounds better. Still don't understand it though... | |

| Absolutely hated Aerosmiths cover when I first heard it. I thought it was terrible. I was such a big Beatles fan at the time and had heard so little Aerosmith that hearing this almost turned me off Aerosmith. Aerosmith are now my favourite band and I think there version is an excellent interpretation. It's true that the song will always have more meaning to the original songwriter, but that doesn't mean Aerosmith can't cover it and have their own interpretation. Often a song can have several different meanings anyway, without the writer even realising. To me, this song (both versions) is about a threesome, the confused lyrics seem to represent the confusion of the situation, (Who's leg is this??? :p). OR - It could just be John trying to confuse his listeners again!!! Whatever the meaning may be we will never know, but it's a great song, and I love both versions! | |

| To be honest I don't even think the writer knew much about what this song was about, Lennon got kicks out of people trying to figure his lyrics out (from what i've read elsewhere) so he would sometimes just write songs jam-packed with nonsense, take 'I Am The Walrus' for example. It's ironic that this song is even on SongMeanings seeing as it has no meaning (in my opinion). | |

| Lennon wrote the song for Thomas Leary's election campaign, one of the few beatles songs where, despite what everyone says (beatles songs are not about drugs) this one IS! | |

| when the beatles did this it was supposed to be a verse for every member i think. the third is about john for sure bc it talks about yoko and bag production, the last is about paul. for aerosmith to redo this song it doesnt make a whole lot of sense in that aspect. the beatles did this song better imo | |

| I too agree with muzzy. I love the Beatles, of course, but the music by Aerosmith is soo much better. John has full credit on lyrics and his own vocals. Both the cover and original are great, just in different ways. | |
