| just to clear up confusion... it is --violets-- now if you were good kids and checked the lyrics on the afi website, you would know this. anywho, in referring to what Malleus posted, it makes sense that Shakespeare has a play caled The Winter's Tale, and the idea of the play is about two lovers. Because this song has always reminded me about a love story of some sort. It's hard to explain, but thats what makes it such a great song. You cant only feel the meaning of it inside of you. ~~FLiP~~ | |

| I love this song... One of my favortie AFI one's.... AFI is one of my favorite bands and I know that I'll love them for years to come... I too, thought it was "A world of violence," but as others said, that wouldn't make much sense. | |

| This was the song that first introduced me to AFI. I think that Davey is brilliant, and he has a great voice. When I hear this song I think of two lovers walking through a snow-covered forest at night. Or maybe someone is walking through the forest and remembering a time when they were doing walking through the forest with a loved one. Well, no matter what, it is a beautiful song. | |

| if any of you are into literature you might know that there is a romantic play by Shakespeare called "The Winter's Tale". its about two lovers. i didnt read the whole thing but i would bet that he is relating to it because davey is well read in famous literature. | |

| It is obvious that he is describing a winter scene. Perhaps as an analogy. Davey doesn't really like to tell people what it meant to him because he doesnt want to crush their opinion. This happened to him and the Cure. This song is very well composed and jade proves once again what you can do with those Days of the Pheonix chords ;) | |

| its Violets, violence wouldnt really make sense in this song. its a great song, but by far, not their best :) in producing, davey sings in the backups alot, but its usually hunter and jade and adam in concert, and during recording, they have guest singers, such as dexter holland(offspring) Nick13(tiger army) .... just a few examples. | |

| This song makes me think of solitude and looking for the one thing in life that will complete you. That it doesn't matter how beautiful something is, as long as you're still looking, everything is cold to you. Of course, I tend to dream a bit... | |
