| well i definetly think that the song is about a relationship. like the heart symbolizes the love and the person talked about symbolizes the relationship. As the heart stops the love stopped that night...yeah....and another thing the new cd is fucking amazing. It is just great to listen to like "minitrucks suck" and then listen to any song on the cd. the mixes and mastering are so amazing and it is one of the tightest albums i've ever heard. | |

| I think of reincarnation, of someone struggling with the fact they are no longer with the living. "Recreate me" "I'm exploring the inside, I find it desolate" "I know I died that night and I'll never be brought back to life, once again. I know." That's just the way it seems to me. If you have seen Clandestine and you know about the whole enigma, then you'll understand what I'm getting at. "Rabbits are roadkill", Davey is the sign of a rabbit in Chinese astrology, which cannot be reincarnated....I could go on and on about the whole theory thing but I won't... 1 2 3 Next | |

| just to show my apology to crazy jake, I'm gonna tell you what I think this song means....TO ME. I feel it is a description of a change in some one's life, probably davey's....it's a drastic change....almost like his blood is turning colors. just read the song again and you'll see what i mean. | |

| i dont think any of you are correct, even though i do agree with everyone that it is a beautiful work of writing. he is exploring his feelings, and he finds them empty and confusing. he wants to be able to start over(?) and be recreated, as either his whole life or just on one subject. lord havok is upset by the inside feelings, and that he portrays a 'destroyed' outside, with tatoos, songs with true meaning. again, a beautiful song. | |

| Ignore the last post. I'm stumped here. My half-bake theory runs dry around this point. I'm thinking this is a reflection of the days leading up to it and weighing his choice t live. Any help would be appreciates as always. MY attempts continue into "The Leaving Song Pt II" | |

| by trying to tell other people what a song is about we not only half destroy the song, but we make complete asses of ourselves. take a note folks, davey doesn't tell the meanings to his songs for a damn good reason, one you should all abide by. we all see something and we percieve it in our own little way. wuts the fun in having some one else tell you what you thought or felt was wrong? just listne to the music because you feel good about it. don't like a song because you know you relate to it and then all of a sudden some bastard tells you it's about leaves burning instead of relationships or praise to god. just cherish AFI. they are artists and they won't be around forever. | |

| Ha, I just realized I said "silver and cold" comes before "bleed black"... Oops. Sleep helps. Anyways... Here we are again. The narrator has stepped down from the events of "Silver and Cold" and now reflects on what he has become. He acknowledges that he is figuratively dead. He hates what he has become, for he sees how pitiful and pathetic he has been. He wants to destroy himself, and recreate himself into something better. He cannot make them see through death, but open their eyes through life, by being reborn. | |

| This song is about going to dying and going to Hell, It is not the beginning of the album, but I do know it is right before This Celluloid Dream which is about the guy remembering how great his life was and feels ashamed that he forgot that and didn't take advantage of it. | |
