I stopped after the first verse and chorus because the song follows the same pattern.
not sure if this is right it's my first tab. Especially the opening part.
This is the intro when he is talking and the piano is playing I think, it repeats through
E|--3-0-3-3------------------0-----------------|
B|-----------3-0-3-3-1----1----1---1-3---------|
G|----------------------2--------2-------------| PLAY TWICE
D|---------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------|
C G
I'm sorry for the times that I left you home
Am
I was on the road and you were alone
F
I'm sorry for the times that I had to go
C
I'm sorry for the fact that I did not know
C G
That you were sitting home just wishing we
Am
Could go back to when it was just you and me
F
I'm sorry for the times I would ne-glect
C
I'm sorry for the times I disrespect
C G
I'm sorry for the wrong things that I've done
Am
I'm sorry I'm not always there for my sons
F
I'm sorry for the fact that I'm not a-ware
C
That you can't sleep at night when I am not there
C G
Because I'm in the streets like everyday
Am
I'm sorry for the things that I did not say
F
Like how you are the best thing in my world
C
And how I'm so proud to call you my girl
C G
I understand that there's some problems
Am
And I'm not too blind to know
F
All the pain you kept inside you
C
Even though you might not show
C G
If I can't apologize for being wrong
Am
Then it's just a shame on me
F
I'll be the reason for your pain
C
And you can put the blame on me
C G
You can put the blame on me
Am
You can put the blame on me
F
You can put the blame on me
C
You can put the blame on me
C G
Said you can put the blame on me
Am
Said you can put the blame on me
F
Said you can put the blame on me
C
You can put the blame on me
The song follows this pattern throughout. Hope it helped.

| This Is My Favorite Song i had to add these lyrics. Akon is talking to his mom, saying how he is sorry for evreything he might have done and may do in the future. this song can be interprited as being toawrds a girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, or to a friend. He is saying that he realizes all the shit hes done and he apologizes to evreyone and that he will take the blame. Best song out now touches my heart | |

| I think this has got to do with the girl situation a lot, it inspired him to make song like this. He says he's sorry for all the bad things been happening, and anything bad that's occurred already you can blame it on him. Pretty self-titled, and I think its about time he should make a song where he apologizes I think he has done a lot of stupid shit in his life (and so I have, admittedly), and I think this song's going to be another hit really, it shows a good reflection of his past obviously. It's quite a touchy song, definitely one of my favorites this year. And I didn't respect or liked Akon before this, obviously because of the incident where he threw a fourteen year old child off the stage in one of his concerts he done a month ago or so. But yes, I have visited his myspace quite a few times, and his website too. He did apologize to the mother about the incident, it obviously wasn't enough, but the song made me feel like that he's trying to redeem all the wrong he has done. And yes, people said this before, we all make mistakes, and Akon recognizes the wrongs he's done and in the song how he mentioned about more responsibilities he needs to take, and this song just shows everything I was talking about, so far this could be one of his best song he has produced because it shows his more personal side to life. | |

| Shins_Skankster : "Okay so maybe she shouldn't have been in a 21+ club" Maybe? are you stupid. I guess when a girl says no, it really means yes. That girl should be slapped in the face and learn some responsibility, and her father (obviously he's been preaching too much to teach his daughter something about the law). Thats why there's laws to keep "kids" out for this reason. Being someone young doesnt mean it negates their actions. Blame her and her father. | |

| even though alot of ppl think this song is only about the girl at club zen,it's not,it IS inspired by that incident but it's actually about other stuff and people too, i back that up with the very first part of lyrics, he says he wants to apologize for things hes done and things that haven’t occurred yet. moving on to the next part: first person he wants to apologize for is his wife- the mother of his children- he apologizes for leaving her home alone most of the time, apologizes for not knowing (because she was hiding it)how much that hurt her, and for neglecting and disrespecting her and finally for not being there for their sons. in the next part he clearly apologizes for his mother for all the things his dad made her go through, apparently his dad left them and got himself a second wife so she had to sell bags to get money even though she would rather be home with him and his siblings.and then he apologizes for the shit he (akon) made her go through(being bad and not lsning, growing up 2 fast, theft, drugs, feds, jail). now the final part is about deena the infamous underage girl at club zen and allll that crap that you guys already know. | |

| Heh, I love this song cause Akon just has a sound to him, that "Lonely", "Don't Matter", "I Wanna Fuck You", "Locked Up", sound, and this song just is like them, and I like it alot. But it makes me laugh alot as well, because well. This is a song about Akon apologizing and yet in the song he blames various other people for things happening, not much of an apology when you're blaming stuff on other people LOL. And the other thing is in the one verse when he says "and how I'm so glad to call you my girl", that whole verse about a "lover". Everyone knows Akon is a polygamist, which girl you talking about? hahhaha. I like the song though, not out to diss Akon, it's just kinda funny. | |

| sure akon humped that girl, but if you look on myspace for her, she'll come up, talking about how "awesome" it was to be on the stage with him. she's an idiot for going to club zen underage, and if she's stupid enough to do that, she's capable of a lot of other idiotic things. akon, is as he said in this song, " just a singer trying to entertain." and i mean, watching the video from club zen with akon and the girl, did make me laugh. very very hard. | |

| unwritenlaw_saveme you are partly correct, but you could have given the whole story. he was performing in a 21+ club, and brought a girl on stage and started dancing with her, and pretending to hump her. he found out later she was 14 and her father is a pastor. the father flipped out. akon had no idea, and he got in trouble for it. verizon dropped him, the club was shut down ect. | |

| Actually I sorta regret my last post, I didn't get incited to the full extent of the whole incident between him {Akon} and the 14 year old girl. And yes, when I read the whole article in one website, this song was to refer back to that incident, and he even mentions his apologies to that girl and to Gwen Stefani too. I'll copy some of the article to show what I mean. It says in one of the articles through Wikipedia and newsweek letters that, In April 2007, Akon drew criticism for a raunchy dance with a fourteen year old girl at a Trinidad club, as part of a fake contest, despite the club's claim to have an eighteen-years and over age limit. The incident was filmed by Akon's crew and later uploaded to the Internet. On April 20, 2007 local media, channel TV6, aired the video clip publicly. Amid criticism on the radio, television, and from the blogosphere, Verizon Wireless has removed ringtones featuring Akon's songs. Verizon has also decided not to sponsor an upcoming tour where Akon was to be the opening act for Gwen Stefani. However, Universal Music Group did not take action against Akon, but rather simply ordered the video clip be removed from video-sharing site YouTube due to copyright infringement. Conservative commentator and Parents Television Council founder Brent Bozell called this "corporate irresponsibility". In a newly released song, "Sorry, Blame It On Me", Akon apologizes to the young girl and Gwen Stefani for the incident at the club, though citing the club for admitting the girl because she was under 21, and the parents for letting her go out. He sings "Even though the blame's on you, I'll take that blame from you. You can put the blame on me." | |

| I think this song is terribly amusing. Especially since Akon is apologizing for something that wasn't his fault. Although technically, he's not apologizing. He's just saying it wasn't his fault, but he's taking the blame for it anyways. The stupid little whore shouldn't have been in a twenty-one and older club when she's not even sixteen years old. She's an idiot.. I respect Akon for writing a song about it. I doubt another artist would've done the same thing. | |

| listen all akon haters. I was a akon hater too and after I heard this song it changed my way of thinking that akon is not a bitch. i feel bad for akon because everyone is all over him and they should all just backe off he apologized for the things he did what else do u want him to do. Yes the zen club thing was bad and throwin the kid off of stage but how did he know that she was underaged it was a 21 and older club and he didnt know so dont hate him for that and dou know why he threw that kid off stage? He said something to Akon thatw as terrible what do u think he should do ignore it guys??? Akon isnt rele a bad guy hes taking the blame for everything thatwasnt rele his fault and i respect him for that. So akon haters think about this song and what it means cause this song made me change my oppioion about akon i think he is responsible now, respectful and he said hes sorry what else do u want from a guy even though the blames on u he takes the blames come on guys | |
