I?m surprised noone else has already tabbed this song out. It?s 5
years old, or something like that, but in my opinion, it?s
Alanis? best song ever!
Listen to the cd for the strumming/picking pattern. Written in

(And you?re)
like a 90?s Jesus And you
revel in your psychosis how dare you...?
Bridge: Strum, using the three chords shown above. Follow the
same chord order and beat, as in the verses. I?m not 100% sure
that these are the chords Nick plays, I think he might be playing
a standard open A chord on the 2nd fret, and slightly changing it
for each bar. But I play them and they sound fine. :)
3rd Verse: Same as bridge.
Slow the tempo back down to the verse riff, a little before
Alanis sings ?And may God bless you in your travels...?

Lyrics:
And your like a 90?s Jesus
And you revel in your psychosis
How dare you
And you sample concepts like hore d?euvres
And you eat their questions for dessert
Is it just me, or is it hot in here?
And your like a 90?s Kennedy
And you?re really a million years old
You can?t fool me
They?ll throw opinions like rocks in riots
And they?ll stumble around like hypocrites
Is it just me, or is it dark in here?
Well you may never be or have a husband
You may never have or hold a child
You will learn to lose everything
We are temporary arrangements
High yah da dye....
And your like a 90?s Noah
And they laughed at you
as you packed all of your things
And they wonder why you?re frustrated
And they wonder why you?re so angry
Is it just me, or are you fed up?
High yah da dye...
And may God bless you in your travels
In your conquest and queries
High yah da dye...
That?s all! Enjoy!

| I'm surprised more people haven't commented on this song. She wrote this song for her twin brother who's gay. She released it on her unplugged album. | |

| I think this song is about being inspired by a lover.kennedy, noah and jesus were all inspirational figures throughout our lives and what shes trying to say is that shes equally inspired by this person. this song is a clever upbeat song that inspires us just as equally by an equally inspiring, fantastic, talented artist.hhhoooorrrraaaayyyyyy | |

| i love the lines And you sample concepts like hors d'euvres And you eat their questions for dessert brilliant song! i think its about how she respects someone, especially because they are themselves and stand up for what they believe in. shes kinda saying with this song that she thinks theyre great, no matter what else everyone else thinks of them and that the worlds kind of crazy. its a bit difficult to describe and it probably doesnt mean what i think at all but i still love it! | |

| "and and the last is about her And they laughed at you as you packed all of your things And they wonder why you're so angry" Personally being gay I would say no to this. I think she is still talking to her gay brother. i think she is talking to her gay brother through out the whole song. I love that she seems to always really understand what shes talking about in every song she sings. this song is 600 times better now that I know it's her talking to a gay man. | |

| i think she says you eat their questions for "A cert" not "dessert". i just think that. sounds more like an Alanis lyric than dessert... | |

| It's one of my favourite Alanis songs. I read that this song was inspired by her brother. I love the whole lyrics and for me it's about someone who doesn't fit in the "socially correct" society, maybe someone gay (when she says Is it just me or is it dark in here, like being in the closet). Also when she says "you may never be or have a husband you may never have or hold a child") That sounds to me like that. But the phrase "We are temporaryy arrangements" is absolutely amazimg. She's right, that's what we are. Any ideas? | |
