I believe Wade is singing this song rather than Dallas. I like it a lot.

This song is about their old drummer (Jesse), not about a drug problem in Canada. . .

"I think this song follows a theme to the record about them returning home, and being disgusted. There is a drug problem in St Catherines, ONT and I think the guys are trying to relate this to us. Some of there old friends have abandonded them, and now they are horrified" BAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!! a drug problem in st kittz?? hahha, that actually almost brought a tear to my eye and like a few ppl have said, its all about their old drummer. look at the line sayin "And time won't heal shit When you've got your hands in my pockets" I think its pretty obvious how jesse's stil got the royalies comin in from the first two albums meh, solid tune. spesh considering hastings is soo much better!!! jesse can get fucked

Love this song, amazing live when I saw em 2 days ago. To me This song seems to be alot about attention and losing friends after trying to make them feel sorry for you. I have 1 friend hu used to lie about everything to make her life seem so pathetic and get our sympathy, but when it blew up in her face, no one was close to her any more. This song is so much like this example with the lines like "some people love to play the victim" , in other words, some people love to be sympathized, for it is a feeling of acceptance almost. but this is just my opinion. PS. GO SEE THEM LIVE! IT WAS INTENSE, FRONT ROW CENTRE LONDON ONTARIO BABY!!!

I take this song is very mellowed out and taken from a less aggressive standpoint - like its sound. Is Wade dominant on the vocals? The rawness of his voice fits nicely

I don't know if this is related to the song lyrics but the title comes from a saying among kids in 'da hood. Keep it on Wax means keep it on vinyl and not kill each other. And I got this from their message board and the administrator was the one who said it. What I think it's about has been said before. It's just about friends.

Keep it on Wax is about how when Jesse (drummer) left the band, he trashed talked them afterwards. That's the feeling I get when I listen to it.

i think this song is about taking your friends for granted and you can treat them like door mats because you know they'll either forgive you over time or they just wont get mad at you, and if they do you can just make new friends.

Keep It On Wax was origanally written when the drummer quit the band. Saying how he didnt have enough time for his friends (What the fuck was he talkin about) The rest Of Alexisonfire got pissed off because he had acted like The rest of them didnt care about anyone else. Hence the line.."What a fucking shame, Ohh That you had to mess things up this bad"

Basically about losing a friendship because of something the friend did, that was not very nice. So relatable..so good..

i agree that "keep it on wax" would mean to keep your disagreements to the music but i think most people can relate to this song anyway to me, this song is just about someone betraying their friends and not having a second thought about it, just being selfish and getting what they want because their friends are "cheap" to them. also, the part about "now this bridge is ashes..." is conducive to the idea of not having any regrets towards using your friends... if the "bridge" was their friendship, it being turned to ashes symbolizes the friendship fading and "it might as well have never been built" is like saying the friendship never happened, in other words, the person who threw it away has no regrets and is just going on with their life because they got what they wanted. and the "little river that it crossed..." part is like saying how before the "bridge" of their friendship could bridge the gap between any differences they may have had, but now the gap between them is too large ("looks like an ocean now") because the friendship is no longer there to hold them together. the restof it is pretty self explanatory i think! this is just my opinion though heh. 1

just fixing what i said before i think this song is about taking your friends for granted and you can treat them like door mats because you know they'll either forgive you over time or they just wont get mad at you, and if they leave you you can always just make new friends

in my honest opinon, this song to me means cutting off connections with friends, hence the verse Now this bridge is ashes It might as well have never been built It might as well have never been built Little river that it crossed Looks like an ocean now, looks like an ocean now I can relate to this song, cause once I met my girlfriend (who is now my ex) I didn't hang around with my friends as much anymore...so I was burning bridges, so I went out and made new friends, but they wern't worth as much to me as the old ones were; which also makes sence cause of the intro of: I, I guess, the only thing cheap to you is your friends You can always make new friends (oh no) But it's not always worth as much (oh no) thats my take on the song.

just elaborating on what ChuckNorrisZombie said above. the saying 'keep it on wax' pretty much translates to "I don't like you and you don't like me, but let's not allow whatever disagreements we have to spill out into the real world where one or both of us might get hurt." keep it on wax = keep your disagreements strictly in the music

Few corrections here... But it's not always worth as much should be But you seldom know if they'll be worth as much (or something to that extent) Your caution to the end should be Your caution to the wind Amazing song, love Wade in this song.
