| I'm thinking that the meaning of this song is possibly about how people are becoming more and more dependent on prescription drugs and doctors to solve the problems in their lives. They feel a little sad - go to the doctor and get some 'happy' pills, when really they should be trying to find out the root of their unhappiness rather than medicating it. | |

| what the hell happened to this band? their self-titled cd is fantastic, and the lyrics don't sound like they were written by 8th graders. besides maybe "that girl possessed" (which still has terrible lyrics), every song on this album makes me embarrassed to have ever liked them | |

| I'm surprised only one person has talked about what this song means. I know its kind of obvious, but this site is called "songmeanings," right? Anyway, for those who haven't broke the code yet... This song is about someone who has an antipathy for doctors. More specifically, it focuses on a person sitting in a waiting room and thinking about how much he doesn't want to be there. It reminds me of trips to the dentist as a kid. Hearing the drill in the other room freaks the hell out you. Oh yeah, the waiting room in the song is for the ER. You can tell by the fact that most other practices don't deal with life and death, and the song is called "Accidents." Bad accidents usually entail a trip to the ER. | |
