Repeat that outro part 4 times (I think). Then there is this weird
noise. It sounds like little pick scrapes on the top two or three
strings. Then, there is a big scrape on the bottom two strings.
After that, play the outro once and begin to slow it down.
Finally, play this and repeat it twice, but without that final D
note on the third string when your repeating it:
-----------------0-----------------0--------------|
-------------9---------------6--------------------|
-------10--------------7-----------------------7--|
---0----------------------------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------|
Notation:
B = bend H = hammer-on P = pulloff
\ = slide X\\\\ = pickscrape ~~ = vibrato

| Man this song is about sooooo much more than that. Read it again. Feel his anquish. This song is about the suffering the author is going through in general and how this person he is with is his only salvation but at the same time the only thing that stops him from giving into his greatest evils. He loves and wants to love but feels as if life has no meaning so it creates a downward spiral of emotional and concious breakdown. "Innocence creates my hell' is both a reference to her innocence but also is full of melancholy towards the innocence that he used to posses which she draws out of him. Once again causing him to try to 'feel' human again instead of just giving into the beast. | |

| This song was inspired by one of Layne girlfriends. When they played it live once he said something like "This song is about a girl that makes me feel fuzzy inside...fucking bitch." I think the girl cheated on the character before the song takes place and that tormented him, and when the song starts he goes into this sick act of kidnapping, torturing, and killing her (I want to peel the skin from your face Before the real you lays to waste/Sweet little angel you should have run Lying, crying, dying to leave/My twisted passion to be your world/Lost inside my sick head) | |

| This song tells me that a guy was friends with a girl that he secretly liked an awful lot. He's kinda nutty to begin with and this is him raping her. He feels guilty but he's doing it anyway. | |

| The song sums up how I feel at the moment. The raw emotion is just superb towards the end. I wish I could contribute towards the meaning, but I think it's already been covered. 1 2 Next | |

| This is nice: in the last stanza, it goes "Lost inside my sick head/I live for you but I'm not alive," rather than "but I am dead," which would have rhymed. Also, at the end before Layne sings "Oooh, love, hate, love," he says "Yeah, hey," on the "hey" (5:05), his voice does this nice doubling over thing. | |

| to me, the song is a perfect blend of poignant meloncholy and anguish... what is said is that because of one's sickhead one cannot really be and act in a relationship the way would like to... One of the most intense songs ever, people who can relate to this one are extremely sensitive, as the one who wrote it. It can be also about loving and wanting someone who will in a way plays innocently and casually about the relationship.... | |

| I'd like to vouch for drinkthepoison, here. This song is actually (according to an interview with Layne) about how he was treating his girlfriend at the time. He would treat her like crap, and then be very sweet to her to keep her with him. He stated that this song helped him realize his behavior towards his lover. | |

| I read an interview where Layne said that this song was written when he was treating his girlfriend poorly. He didn't like the way he was behaving, so he wrote his darkest feelings into the song and got them out that way. | |

| I don't come closer to becoming a serial killer who targets lying, cheating, backstabbing, hurtful women than when I'm listening to this song. It's just such a raw and powerful song, culminating in just two words wrenched from the bottom of his gut: love, hate. | |
