'And I was drinking you goodbye A heart floats in the bay From sour home Chicago I hear it beating far away' What he's basically saying here is that his heart remains in 'the bay' of SF and he can sence that that it is where is heart wants to stay, rather than his home of Chicago. | This song I think is about leaving someone behind for an indefinate amount of time. I love all the refernces to alcohol, this whole song just so nails the feelings of painful goodbyes.
