You're all pathetic fucking assholes for pirating this album. Have some respect for the band.

The meaning of this song is really confusing.....the two verses seem to mean different things to me. The first verse and chourus seem to be the classic "being used in a relationship" kinda theme.....he or someone is being undervalued by his/their partner " i am a prayer all you see is breath" he is saying he is better than what the other person thinks of him....."i am out the door with apathy im coming home with sympathy" every time he leaves he comes back apolageticaly........This all seems very relationshipy (if that is a word) However the 2nd verse seems so much to be about selling out....which many people think they did and they write about but i dont think Alk3 sold out at all but this verse seems to be about nothing else....."theres a song i love so much....every precious note i took i sold"..."now i spit out words" "to a hopeless cause i sold my soul" ( the record company) "a romantic, plastic piece of shit you can mould" commenting on how record companys manipulate bands to their way of thinking.....it may be a song about bands selling out in general...anyone got any other thoughts cos i want to be wrong on this point

This song just amazes me completely. I don't know why, everytime I hear it I can just feel it all flowing through my veins straight to my heart. It gives me such an amazing feeling. I really, really love the accoustic version that they have on the 'Remains" DVD. I got chills when I heard it. I get chills hearing the regular version. That accoustic one though, I don't even know how to explain the incredible feeling it gives me. It's one hell of a feeling though. 1

mastatstan, im not calling you wrong or anything but either you made these spelling mistakes yourself, or if you did indeed copy everything verbatim, then like i said in a different Alk post, the words in the booklet are not correct, because they were either not written by matt or dan or they were poorly translated by someone at the label its definitely "spit" not "pit" and "chokeable" not "chockable" i dont mean to come off sounding like an asshole, just clarifying!!

these are copied verbatim from the book, read it before you post lyrics! I am waiting 'till there's nothing left I'm a prayer, all you see is breath I ampty, I am skin and bones, I'm a rib cage I am out the door with apathy But I'm coming home with sympathy I am realized, I am shamed, I choose to stay here (Below is where most the the errors are, I don't know why, the words are NOT hard to understand, but keep in mind, I'm sill using the book!) You got a sign, so I paid a ransom You felt sorry, so I felt a wrath come Had a nice grip on my life 'til you twisted my arm There's a song I love so much I stole Every precious note I took I sold Now I pit out words. Do you see my lungs on the dance floor? To a hopeless cause I sold my soul A romantic plastic peice of shit you can mold Untill I break into chockable pieces I open up like the back of a book I ruin everything with just a quick look And I settle down like a rocket explodes Hit the ground, but how far out who knows You got a sign, so I paid a ransom You felt sorry, so I felt a wrath come Had a nice grip on my life till you twisted my arm

"I had a grip on life until you twisted my arm..." Brilliant. "Well, I'm out the door with apathy and I'm coming home with sympathy..." Also brilliant.

^^^ Yea, sucks it leaked, but I still plan on buying it. I don't feel bad at all about having it early and it's not like I'm the person who leaked it. GG nextmap.

This song was written on the 2004 Warped Tour, I had been out for a couple weeks and for whatever reason I was starting to feel very nostalgic for all the things that got me into playing music, therein placing me in whatever dirt field I happened to be trudging through that day on my way to the stage. I think it was because that was the first time in my life that I had ever felt old, or like I was in need of some sort of validation, I hated that feeling. But that inspired me to try and record something for the first time on that tour... So I busted out my computer on the bus, and recorded the guitar parts to a click track, then I think it was the next day that Derek set up his drums behind the stage, hooked up some microphones and recorded drums over what I had put down... he did this outside, and while some band was playing like fifty feet away. This demo sounded extra shitty, but I just wanted to get the ideas down. It actually ended up sounding very similar to what was recorded that day. This song was really fun to record in the studio... being pretty different from a lot of stuff on the record, we had a chance to mess around with a lot of different kinds of clean guitar sounds... which is definitely my favorite part of being in the studio, playing all of Jerry’s nice guitars, and amps... and Derek played a china crash cymbal in this song, which was my least favorite part about being in the studio... -Dan Andriano

Great song, but what do the first lines of the chorus mean? They seem to be pretty irrelevant to the rest of the song.
