| The whole thing with writing music, and i speak from experience, is that no matter what you try to write about whatever's on your mind eventually comes out, and i fyou've ever been in love you know that that person is ALWAYS on your mind. His intentions in writing the song are Christmas-y, but he's obviously thinking about someone. Or he's thinking from another person's point of view, but his feelings are portrayed through that person, although unintended. | |

| i don't know what the deal is with the song being released without the intro but that's shit. If you want to say that you truely love star of bethlehem then you need to love the whole song! The intro is beautiful! this song tells a story and i think that the intro plays a part in that story. FIGHT FOR THE INTRO! | |

| Ok, this song was released on the Kevin and Bean album WITHOUT the long intro, so no need to discuss it. Now this is a wonderful song (although repetitive again), truly hitting the epic sound that Tom reaches for. My only question is, what the heck does this have to do with Christmas? | |

| i think this song would be a lot more beautiful if it didnt take a song that should have been about Jesus (obviously) and make it about some girl...blah. | |

| "If the world were to die, the light would guide you." Clearly a reference to Jesus Christ (the Light) who will guide you through life. It makes perfect sense to me. Reminds me of their references in A Little's Enough. What a great song! | |

| yes, i agree. even in the war, the lyrics force in the relationship analogy which is annoying considering the topic of the song. but i think most of the lyrics have to do with christmas. the true love and light are a reference to god/jesus guiding you home | |

| This song is so much better than the majority of WDNTW. I agree that the lyrics needed to be deeper, if they're attempting to sound so epic. The intro debate... I think that eventually the song sounds so much like Where the Streets Have No Name by U2. I think this is my bigest problem with AVA... they seem to be somewhat of a rip off in their basic sound. Hopefully they branch out from the U2-esque sound. Good song though. I'll take +44 any day though, but that just me. | |
