Box Car Racer consists of Anthony Celestino (bass), Dave Kennedy (guitar), Tom Delonge (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Travis Barker (drums, arrangements).
Box Car Racer was a side-project (it is insisted by Tom Delonge that it was never a "band" but rather a project) created by Tom DeLonge of blink-182. While blink took a break in 2002, DeLonge formed Box Car Racer to experiment with and record ideas he felt did not fit in with blink's sound. Tom soon enlisted Travis Barker stating that the reason why he asked Barker to drum on the album is because he didn't want to pay for a studio drummer.
