| i love how angry this song is- if you're really pissed off at a guy or something you can just shout this at the top of your lungs- it's like saying "yeah, like that?? are you happy without me??" | |

| Michelle Branch really stands as a role model to me. She writes great music, plays guitar well, and I'm sure she'll never sell out. But I think that Michelle's newest album, Hotel Paper, shows that Michelle has grown a lot. The Spirit Room was more rock, while Hotel Paper is sort of pop rockish. Who agrees? -soco psYcho- | |

| Great song by Michelle! I love the attitude that comes from her. I was so excited when I first heard it and am anxious to see how her new album turns out when it is released. I know that it is a little more upbeat--it rocks on more. She is a great songwriter/singer and I feel that she will continue to grow musically. She can definitely not be compared to a "Britney Spears" recording artist! | |

| I can relate to this song. When i listen to this song i think of somebody who is addicted to drugs and gave up everything for them. They dont care about anything anymore and is left alone. And michelle is asking if they are happy after they gave up so much for nothing. And she is sick of worrying and sick of caring about this person. And she doesnt need this to bring her down. | |

| I'm a guy and can relate to this song. Had a girlfriend of five years break up with me because I was struggling to get a place of my own and make ends meet. She wanted out of her parents house, broke up with me and started dating this guy and moved in with him almost instantly, then got married within 2 months. Heard she is living in a run down trailer park and is now having bad financial troubles. I am on the other hand got a great sales job, and average between $60K - $100K a year and live in a luxury apartment complex in a upscale part of town. And when she always used to talk about the future she always wanted the best. When I think about it in my head, the lyrics ring true, "Are you happy now?" | |

| I think that this song is pretty self explanatory, but it sets the mood for the entire album. It is saying that she's happy now and she's left all the old crap behind. This album shows a more mature Michelle Branch, branching (lol) out more in an emotional way. Her songs have always been so practical and aapplicable to any normal persons life. Great song. | |

| Do you really have everything you want? You could never give something you ain't got You can't run away from yourself Could you look me in the eye And tell me that you're happy now? Come on tell it to my face Or have I been replaced? Are you happy now? Are you happy now? I really like Michelle Branch - I've always thought it was cool that she writes her own music. To me, it makes the artist that much more credible if she/he can produce her/his own thoughts to make her/his music. The first time I heard this song, I was driving around trying to clear my mind. I listened to the lyrics, especially the part pasted above, and thought to myself, "Wow. That's it Those are the words I was searching for." Even knowing that I'd never say them to the person in mind, hearing them helped me feel better. And even though it's just a song (ie the writer may or may not have every experienced those feelings), I felt reassured and comforted that I wasn't alone in my thoughts, that other people felt things similar to what I was feeling. Music soothes the wounded soul. ~*~ | |
