i think this song is about a couple that missed out on the chance of love ("missed the train") and the chance to make a commitment and have more.

i think its about a boy and a girl who are friends, but deep down they both like each other. they decide not to do anything because they don;t want to lose an oppurtunity, and shes gutted they;ve 'just missed the train', which i think stands for just missed an oppurtunity for great things. oim sure thats not what she wrote it about but thats just the way i like to think about it :). whatever its suppsoed to mean its a great song

awesome song - very relatable lyrics are wrong though its: Oh why'd that train just pass us by Didn’t anyone see we were stuck at the light And we would've made it on time not Oh why let strangers pass us by Didn’t anyone see we were so damn in love And we would've made it on time

I think this song is about how her and a guy wanted to work something out together, but ultimately, things didn`t turn out as expected. Somehow, they lost the chance. A really sad song, but a good song.

I think it seems like this guy has dumped her, but she knows that they're right for each other. She's saying that he can pretend all he wants that they weren't right for each other, but it's too late now. But it's a kick booty song. Very "michelle branch." I love it. I wanna learn how to play it on the guitar...once I learn how to play guitar. ;)

I love this song ... it's so sad because it's me and my exboyfriend's theme song after we broke up. I think it's about a girl and guy who did have a relationship and it didn't work out but obviously, the girl still loves him but she doesn't know if the guy wants her the same way. She's trying to start things again but she's confused so she's letting him have his silence while she tries to figure things out and all she can really do is reminisce about how they use to be. I think though that the reason they didn't work out in the first place was because the girl didn't know what she wanted hence that "SHE missed the train". I don't think she was ready to be with him yet and now she's regretting the fact that they had something so good and now it's gone. She's just in denial of everything -> "It’s cool baby It doesn’t matter anyway " She's trying but she can't let go. Man would I ever love to perform this song.

one of my favorite songs. to me, its about a girl, and a guy who liked eachother.. but somewhere along the way they lost eachother, and now shes singing to him how they lost their chance, and she thinks hes forgotten all about the magic they had. i relate, thats what it means to me because i dedicated this song to a guy who i was in the situation with.

I think the "so sleep darlin, why don't you pretend we were just a dream? It's cool baby, doesn't matter anyway" thing is kind of angry sounding, the way she says it. It could be that she missed her chance on love or whatever, but I think it might be where she was trying to make it work and he wasn't, even though he wanted it to work too. Does that make any sense????

I think it's cool how there can be so many different interpretations for this song. I just listened to Kelly Clarkson's first album last month, and I can't stop listening to this song. I play it over and over again. To me, this song is about a couple who tried working out their relationship, but failed. Instead of being sad and depressed or angry and bitter, the person in the song is more nonchalant about the break up. It's like, yes, we tried, but it didn't work. It's such a shame, but oh well, life will go on. I guess you can say the song is bittersweet. I love the metaphor of "missing the train." I think it means that they almost reached a point where their relationship would work, but they were "stuck at a light" which may be some kind of problem they never dealt or compromised with, causing them to miss the train. I listen to this song everyday because I want the same attitude as the person in this song toward my own breakup. I want to not care about the situation, be more like, "I'm sorry it didn't work out, but oh well." A lot of the song applies to my own past relationship. The lyrics "Do you remember wasting all the time/We were feeling fine/Though we coudln't walk a line/We were all right" can be about how the couple was happy together, but they had problems underneath it all that they just ignored for a while, until the time came to break up. I think I'm writing too much. I really love this song! I think it should've been a single. :P

One of my favorite songs on the album, it reminds me of autumn for some reason. I agree that it's about a couple who missed their chance for commitment and love.

I love this song, its the best on the album! I think its about a girl who can't go over her guy. She can't stop thinking about him, but he just thinks of her as another girl, like it was kinda a one time thing, kinda like the Avril song happy ending. I think that girls get more upset over broken hearts then guys do and she just can't get over the fact the her ex boyfriend has moved on."Didn’t anyone see we were so damn in love" its almost as if she dreamed the whole thing and is obsessing af this is making her paranoid because they were a great couple and now he doesn't remember her or they're memories along with everyone else. She just wants to go back to being in love and who could blame her?I love this song so much!
