	This song will forever remind me of when I was 18 and one of my friends had a sister who was hotter than hell but was 14 at the time, yet could look about 19 if not older when she tried. She made it perfectly clear she wanted me in every type of position for everything both verbally and by how she acted around me and what she wore. You wouldn't believe the temptation it took not to just sneak over and do everything with her, but I had to show restraint (first because it's statutory rape in my state and second I had a decently longtime gf and we were a well-known couple). Plus, all three of us (me, her brother and her) went to the same HS. I believe she ("my pain, your thrill") would have taken a thrill in doing stuff with me. Not because it hurt me, but it would thrill her to be dating a senior as a freshman, and a hooked up senior at that. However, by taking a thrill in that, i.e.- telling all her friends which would spread school-wide, it would cause me pain. I heard the song before, but the line "I wanna hold you but my senses tell me to STOP" kept repeating everytime I was at their house. That's what the song is about to me, basically tasting the "forbidden fruit" so to speak. Something which you want very badly but know it's better if you leave well enough alone. I most definitely did not want to "break these chains", but had to.

	i don't think this song is about AIDS... it's simply about love that is not possible, or forbidden, or he just thinks that being romantically related to this person would eventually hurt him. that's all. 	Love this song. It reminds me of a girl who i hooked it up with in the moshpit of Slipknot's final Canadian concert. Kick ass night. Anyway, I always thought it was about being attracted to a hot girl when being with her would only lead to trouble.
