Diamondhead is a census-designated place located in Hancock County, Mississippi, USA. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 5,912.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there are 5,912 people, 2,559 households, and 1,916 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 201.3/km² (521.5/mi²). There are 3,084 housing units at an average density of 105.0/km² (272.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 95.35% White, 1.78% African American, 0.41% Native American, 0.88% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.47% from other races, and 1.08% from two or more races. 2.94% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,559 households out of which 23.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.8% are married couples living together, 5.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.1% are non-families. 21.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
