| I can see where the heroin theory comes from but I also think it may be about a woman who is so undeniably sexy, so hot that it hurts. And face it, the Devil is so much hotter than an Angel and so comes the line " - sleeping in the Devil's bed" | |

| An absolute CLASSIC and a very underrated Eagles track. Great Bluesy guitar, one of those songs that must be cranked up real LOUD. I think its just about a woman that can take you over (kinda live the chick in livin la vioda loca!!!!!) | |

| I don't think this is about herooin at all, I read somewhere that Henley said it was just a sarcastic way to describe a woman | |

| The "madness with a silver spoon" could easilt be taken as a drug reference. It doesn't have to, though. It could be about wealth or privilege--'born with a silver spoon' kind of thing. Or it might have just rhymed and sounded kinda cool. | |

| When I heard this song I didn't think once about the "heroin" idea. Mainly this song is about a womana who is very, for lack of a better word, experienced. It mentions "she can rock you in the nighttime 'til your skin turns red" and I don't know about the rest of you but when I hear that I something dirty pops into my head... as for the heroin concept I don't agree with it because it doesn't tie in with the rest of the song. | |

| The inspiration was apparently Indians (native_Americans for the PC-people) and F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife Zelda Fitzgerald were somehow also behind the inspiration. | |
