Your Lucky Day In Hell - Eels
From the album, "Beautiful Freak" (1997)
--------------------------------------------
*LP Version*
[Transcribed by TNT SHWE]
Notes:
Here's a nice Halloween-ish song transcribed especially for
Halloween night. The song couldn't come from a freakier band. The Eels
are definitley the experts when it comes to delivering cold haunting
melodies combined with eerie lyrics. This is one of my favourite tracks off
their fabulous album. This one would happily fit into a good horror movie
and couldn't come at a better time, with the horror genre going retro!
Go ahead, I dare you to play this one alone!
To make the most out of the chords, play all the sections except
the Choruses with lots of added bass. Play the Choruses with light sweep
picking movements.

C x32O1O
Dm xxO231
F/E x3321O
G 32OO33

| Why are there no comments on this song? Oh my God, it's such a good song. It's one of my favorite songs, and when I first heard it I felt as if I'd heard it before, like in a good movie or something. But it's trying to be optimistic in a world that, well, sucks at times..."this could be your lucky day in hell." "Waking up with an ugly face, Winston Churchill in drag" - that cheered me up. The whole album (Beautiful Freak) went along with my mood when I was going through some rough times. | |

| don't know about scream, but I first heard it and found out about The Eels from a movie that didn't do so well in the box office it was called "Dead man on Campus"...the song is featured towards the end of the movie I think just before the credits roll | |

| To me, at least, it's about trying to be optimistic about a situation, despite knowing that whatever it is that you're in, it can't possibly go over well. | |

| I don't know if E ever had a prog-rock phase growing up or it's just an odd coincidence, but Genesis had a song called "Supper's Ready" in the 70's that also mentioned "Winston Churchill dressed in drag". | |
