i suppose i'll post under this song, since none of the others have anything... such conformity. Anyway, I sit here on the last day of school in my dorm room and this song has all the meaning in the world. Just have faith... when your friends leave, and some you'll never see again...know them in your heart... thats what i feel about it.

I have to agree about the child thing. "Morning light shall burst bright and keep us here safely." I dunno, it seems like something you'd say to comfort a child? This song kinda got me started on calling things marvelous. Teehee. This song IS creepy, and beautiful, and 'nother planet-ey.

incu and driftwood21, Eisley are named after "Mos Eisley" (if you are familiar with Star Wars, you know what that is). Mos Eisley was their original name, but they changed it in fear that they might be sued by the creators.

"Actually, pantsuit, the band were originally called Moss Eisley with two s's. " actually, they're from around here and according to my ex who met them long before i did, they WERE originally Mos Eisley, from Star Wars. But I don't know, I didn't know them then

According to their website...the band is called Eisley...for no special reason...it just is. Eisley is a great band, all of their songs/melodies seem to stick in your head...but in a good way. Jesse Lacey once said in an interview that Eisley is so good that he's afraid that he might not listen to anything else. I'd have to agree with Jesse.

i agree with escapetonight. i think it's about seeing thing through a child's eyes or another innocent when the world is magical, there are no cares or worries, and when imagination runs free. There also may be something else associate with this song. Can't put my finger on it yet. I'm talking about the line "...marvelous thing, but they are giving me the creeps. dark nights hold tight." Maybe coming of age? I don't know! Agh! It's a beautiful song. Love Eisley, does anyone know if they're going on tour and when if they are?

I saw Eisley 2 months ago in DC. When they played this song, you got chills. It's one of those eerie yet beautiful songs which you don't hear much of anymore. This song is hard to explain, much like a lot of their songs, but I believe it's about dreams. Dreams can be marvelous in a good or bad way, like the line "oh what marvelous things, but they are they are they are giving me the creeps." "Morning light shall burst bright and keep us here safely" gives me the impression that it is a dream, and when you wake, you are free from any fear you may have had in your dream.

I just heard this song from Paste (a magazine). I must say I was deeply impressed with this cut, what surprised me more was how the oldest band member is 22 and one of the sisters is 15! I was like !!!!!!!! haha good stuff

Like pantsuit, when I first heard this song I thought of Alice in Wonderland at that particular line. It seems that they are highly influenced by childhood fairytales. In Brightly Wound the say "I shall never grow up, make-believe is much to fun" or something and it makes me think of peter pan. all there songs seem to be about innocence or child-like things. and how adults lose their sight on believing in things and loving things and seeing things for their beauty, and are instead obsessed with material things. yeah.

This song seems to really reflect how wonderful the simple things in life really are. It almost reminds me of seeing the world through a child's eyes, especially after watching the video which really accentuates simplicity. I go to church with Eisley here in Tyler, Texas, so I've been spoiled into getting to hear them perform once a week (they are the worship band where I attend). They are such an amazing band and I cannot wait until their full-length comes out.

well it seems to be about the innocence seen through a childs eyes. it seems to be the general consensus on what the song is about, but i'd have to concur. and it's called eisley because it is influenced from the star wars cantina called moss eisley which was on tantooine haha. chauntelle said it was because the cantina was on another world which is what she hoped the listeners would feel about their music, like it was from another world or something. i dunno. i love eisley.

When I first listened to this song, I thought about 'Alice In Wonderland'. "I followed a rabbit..." Maybe the narrorator is describing a dream she had that was very AIW-esque.

I like Eisley's music because it sounds unique to me. I'm probably going to catch heat for saying this, but her voice doesn't seem to have very much of a range to it, does it? It sounds like the same 5 notes in different succession. Even if this is true, they make it work. I agree with others about it being about the world through a child's eyes. It may also just be about the crazy images flying around in someone's mind.
