CAPO 1!
INTRO Chords: F A D

D A
I walk the maze of moments

G D
But everywhere I turn to

G D
Begins a new beginning

A D
But never finds a finish
I walk to the horizon
And there I find another
It all seems so surprising
And then I find that I know

Chorus:

Bm A
You go there you're gone forever

G/D A
I go there I'll lose my way

Bm A
If we stay here we're not together

G A
Anywhere is

The moon upon the ocean
Is swept around in motion
But without ever knowing
The reason for its flowing
In motion on the ocean
The moon still keeps on moving
The waves still keep on waving
And I still keep on going

Chorus

I wonder if the stars sign
The life that is to be mine
And would they let their light shine
Enough for me to follow
I look up to the heavens
But night has clouded over
No spark of constellation
No Vela no Orion

G D G D G C D (repeat) A
Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm

Verse

Chorus

Verse

G/D: xx0433

I think this song is about being stuck in a moment and wondering what you're leaving behind, sacrificing, by moving on. But the conclusion drawn is that the moment this person is in is meaningless, it's just about remembering, not making new memories. And in that moment, that person is alone, and without the things they remember loving so much. They know that by leaving the past behind they can never get it back, but any moment is better than the one that person is in, because they don't have anything. But that also means they don't have anything or lose.

To me this song is about religion/life. As life keeps going on, the character here is trying to figure out what everything's all about. Maybe the character is trying to find or hear from a higher power/ God, but to no avail: "I wonder if the stars sign the life that is to be mine and would they let their light shine enough for me to follow I look up to the heavens but night has clouded over no spark of constellation no Vela no Orion." An experience of discovery: "I walk the maze of moments but everywhere I turn to begins a new beginning but never finds a finish I walk to the horizon and there I find another it all seems so surprising," Trying to understand the direction and purpose of this life, seeking for truth: "It's either this or that way it's one way or the other it should be one direction it could be on reflection the turn I have just taken the turn that I was making I might be just beginning I might be near the end. " But despite all of the searching, the character is trying to live in the moment and still enjoy life for all that it is, while keeping the big questions and ideas close at hand: “To leave the thread of all time and let it make a dark line in hopes that I can still find the way back to the moment.” However, I can’t quite articulate my feelings or thoughts about the chorus. For me, there’s something so intangible about trying to describe it, yet it makes so much sense: “You go there you're gone forever I go there I'll lose my way if we stay here we're not together Anywhere is.” We’re all in this together, trying to figure this thing called life out. “Anywhere Is.” How could someone come up with such a phrase? Very unique; very colorful; very true. - songbird101@hotmail.com 1

I was such a huge, huge, HUGE Enya fan back in my hippie days. This was the first Enya song I heard after like, Orinoco Flow, I saw it on Rosie O'Donnell and was MESMERIZED! I still have every Enya CD made up until about '99 in a drawer. Now I'm feeling inspired to get them out and listen. I would venture to say that Enya has made me a better person. I think going through my "Enya-phase" definitely made me more easy-going, more understaning of people, less quick to judge or to throw a tantrum. The music just emits serenity. Plus, the multilingual, multitalented, funkily-dressing Enya is a good role model for a young girl to have. I sound like a teeny-bopper professing her love for Britney Spears, but I'm serious. Deep in the soul of this current Rock and Roller lies the deep impact of ENYA.

This was the very first song I heard from Enya - my stepsister was playing it. I went out and bought the cd the next day and have loved Enya ever since. Like BtownMeggy said, she's an incredible artist and the kind of woman that young girls ought to look up to. The makers of the Lord of the Rings movies even enlisted her!
