Home C Clapton, Eric Wonderful Tonight Guitar Tab

THIS SONG IS BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO WOO SOMEONE.
LOL.IT'S VERY SIMPLE AND BASIC TO PLAY, IT'S ONE OF THE FIRST SONGS I TAUGHT
MYSELF (AND I'M ONLY 16!)
INTRO:

G---0---0-----0-----2---2-----2-----0---0-----0-----2---2-----2----------
D-------------------------------------------------4----------------------
A---------------------------------3--------------------------------------
E-3---------------2------------------------------------------------------
PLAY THROUGH ONCE FOR INTRO, THEN STRAIGHT INTO VERSE ONE:
E---------3---------------2---------------0---------------2-------
B-----0-----0---0-----3-----3---3-----1-----1---1-----3-----3---3-
G---0---0-----0-----2---2-----2-----0---0-----0-----2---2-----2--- x2
D-------------------------------------------------4---------------
A---------------------------------3-------------------------------
E-3---------------2-----------------------------------------------
It's late in the ev'nin,
She's wond'rin what clothes to wear,
She puts on her make-up,
And brushes her long blonde hair...
E---------0---------------2-------------------2-----------0-------
B-----1-----1---1-----3-----3---3-----0---------------0-----0---0-

E---------3---------------2---------------0---------------2-------
B-----0-----0---0-----3-----3---3-----1-----1---1-----3-----3---3-
G---0---0-----0-----2---2-----2-----0---0-----0-----2---2-----2---
D-------------------------------------------------4---------------
A---------------------------------3-------------------------------
E-3---------------2-----------------------------------------------
...And I say yes,
You look wonderful tonight.
REPEAT INTRO
VERSE 2, SAME AS ABOVE:
We go to a party,
And everyone turns to see,
This beautiful lady,
That's wond'rin around with me,
And then she asks me,
Do you feel alright,
And I say yes,
I feel wonderful tonight.
INTRO AGAIN
THEN THERES A BRIDGE THAT USES THE SAME TABS AS ABOVE BUT IN A DIFFERENT ORDER.
I CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO WORK THEM OUT BUT IF YOU LISTEN TO THE TRACK, IT SHOULD BE
PRETTY SIMPLE TO WORK OUT.
LAST VERSE, SAME AS BEFORE:
It's time to go home now,
And I've got an aching head,
So I give her the car keys,
And she helps me up to bed,
And then I tell her,
As I turn down the light,
I say my darhlin,
You were wonderful tonight.
THEY YA GO M8S, PRETTY SIMPLE BUT YET SOO LURVELY. HOPE IT WORKS FOR YA!
IT'S MY FIRST TAB, WHEYHEY!

This is my parents' song. I love hearing my dad play it on the guitar for my mom because it just goes to show how in love you can be with someone after years and years. To still feel the same way you did when you first started dating is just awesome.

This is like the most beautiful song there is. I had it as my first song played at my wedding reception. I love this song.

I love this song. This is the first song I remember ever dancing with my fiance. This will be our wedding song and will always be our song. There is a live version somewhere out there from I think the 90's that I absolutely love. It's a little bit longer than the original (instrumental wise) but it's beautiful.

I don't know if it's true or not.. but I heard that this actually wasn't supposed to be a love song at first... that Eric Clapton wrote this towards his wife who was trying on clothes at a store or getting ready for a party .. and he was saying this sarcastically just to get her to hurry up. He wrote the lyrics then decided to slow it down and make it into a love song. The love song that never was..lol. But it is beautiful.... and one of my fav's anyways

I played and sang this song to my fiancee when I asked her to marry me:) Not as good as Clapton's, but good enough for her to say yes;)

This song is truly beautiful in that it explains in the most basic of terms how one can find themselves completely and utterly in love and how important it is to share how we feel with that special someone. I absolutely love this song and will make a point to personally sing this song to my new wife at my wedding reception. I don't think I could ever simply ignore this song if I heard it playing. Eric Clapton is a true artist, filling his songs with pure truths and meanings that we all can relate too. Thanks again Eric for sharing your work with the rest of the world.

Oh, com'on! This is a great love song. You must admit that, Clapton fan or not. I'll always think about my prom and my date saying to me softly "Don't be so nervous" as we were slow dancing, while I was nearly stepping over my own two feet....and that guitar....it's just phenomenal
