| i wouldnt say Peter Garrett "willia05 " i think he sounds more like Michael Hutchence in the start. after much thought and watchin the video in its entirety, its more a political song, how in the end they have themselves in the car boot, therefore killing themselves. "all of us stand and point our fingers" and "the argument over all continues " hi-lights this as we blame each other for the problems in the world, but who acts upon those problems? eventually we are killing ourselves with the problems such as the Greenhouse Effect and destroying the Ozone layer being talked about, but nothing really being done, coal still being burnt etc etc. Black Fingernails relates to how people get dirty in the issues of the world, with the line "the argument over god continues" Red Wine is just about what i earlier mentioned, that we are dying (red wine being a metaphor for blood) because of ourselves. Just my two cents, could be wrong. | |

| well the name actually came from how he gets the inspiration for his lyrics paints his fingernails black and grabs a bottle/cask of red wine. The actual lyrics of the song have a deep meaning for me because I agree with bluephoenix36 that it is about the nature of depression and suicide brought about by the events and cultures of today. Heres a little trivia for you guys as well, the video clip shown is not the original. The original was of them going around and pulling people out of showers and cars and putting them in the boot, at the end of the clip you got a look in the trunk and it was the band themselves. The clip was basically there way of saying we have changed our style so you won't be hearing much of our old style in our new stuff. This clip got classed as too violent and was never aired(my source is peter himself(thank you glass house)) | |

| This song is good, I think it is a reflection on the whole religion causing wars aspect of life. But, perhaps it's my hearing, but I thought the chorus was "Arguments over God continue this hell, all of us stand and point our fingers at the ground". But it's clear that Eskimo Joe are playing with different sounds, and their experimentation is paying off. | |

| one point no one seems to have mentioned is that this song is a remake of an song from INXS. that may be why it is somewhat different to their normal music, adn why the singer sounds different, as he is trying to homage michael hutchinson of INXS...cant find the name of the original inxs song though still looking | |
