F#m A E
Dear my love, haven't you wanted to be with me
F#m A E
And dear my love, haven't you longed to be free
F#m A E
I can't keep pretending that I don't even know you
F#m A E
And at sweet night, you are my own
F#m E
Take my hand
[CHORUS:]
A E F#m
We're leaving here tonight
D C#m
There's no need to tell anyone
Bm E
They'd only hold us down
A E F#m
So by the mornings light
D C#m
We'll be half way to anywhere
Bm E A A/G#
Where love is more than just your name
F#m A E
I have dreamt of a place for you and I
F#m A E
No one knows who we are there
F#m A E
All I want is to give my life only to you
F#m A E
I've dreamt so long I cannot dream anymore
F#m E
Let's run away, I'll take you there
A E F#m
We're leaving here tonight
D C#m
There's no need to tell anyone
Bm E
They'd only hold us down
A E F#m
So by the mornings light

We'll be half way to anywhere
Bm E A
Where no-one needs a reason
Bm C#m
Forget this life

Come with me

Don't look back you're safe now

| Well, normally I'd try to avoid commenting unless I had something new and constructive to add, but I just have to say that this is quite possibly my favorite Evanescence song (and that's saying something, considering how much I love all their music). I, too, a hopeless romantic...this was the first non-Fallen Evanescence song I ever heard, and it completely blew me away the very first time I heard it. The guitar solo? Absolutely amazing. Anyway, I'm basically rambling here, but...if you haven't heard this song, you need to. Even if you don't like Evanescence, listen to it anyway--it's that good. Go listen to it. NOW. =p | |

| Seems I finally found a band that absolutely knows how I feel... I too have been dreaming a long, long time with a world inside my heart and I've all been too afraid to release that into the place I live in today. Until recently. It seems like when I look around me, meeting the women in my life, so many people I find really need to be "broken" down. I definitely don't mean that in a bad way. But people are like sleepwalkers, trying to adapt so much to bittersweet life that they fail to see the beauty of things outside of their little bubble. This one goes out to you, Tisha, like you'd ever read this! But, this is purely my most wonderful dream. Where two people are completely unshackled by life's endurements and can release themselves to a world that they can both taste so beautifully. Only then will the dream inside become reality. And that is what I want so many people to realize. Not to get off the subject of this loving song. That what is dream is real, and what is real is only a dream. Think about it. How can reality be this physical life, when our dreams within our minds and hearts are so much bigger. And so free. | |

| I agree with all of the other hopeless romantics here and I love this song. Basically, what everyone else said, insert it here :P I've got a question... who's doing the male vocals in the background? There ARE male vocals, right? *glances around, paranoid* I can't be hearing things... Is it Ben? I heard from someone he was a good singer, but I don't know if it's him on the song... agh, I'm rambling now, and I just don't know. 1 2 3 Next | |

| It's talking about two lovers who are deeply in love with one another. Yet the girl is scared about looseing the man she loves. So she just wants to run away so they can be together forever. Without the worry and thought of looseing one another. Shes talking about just leaving an old life behind and bascially starting a new one with the man she loves. But the song itself is great and the lyrics where written to touch the soul!! | |

| I think this song defenately has a Romeo/Juliet theme behind it. I think it's about a couple who no one wants to be together but their feelings are too strong for each other. Amy is dreaming of taking him away into a world where no one will tell them what to do and they can be free together. | |

| Amy's voice full of passion, so sad and yet determined to make it work by leaving everything for the one she loves. It's amazing and mkinda reminds me of Romeo and Juliet and not being able to be with someone, Star Cross'd lovers and all that :) One of the best songs "we're leaving here tonight there's no need to tell anyone they'd only hold us down so by the morning's light we'll be half way to anywhere where love is more than just your name" Don't let them know coz they'll only try to stop them going *sigh* true love | |

| *sigh* What a song!!! I guess it's the hopeless romantic in me that this song appeals to... Just the thought of leaving everything behind just to be with your love... wow.... | |

| I think this song is about someone who is secretly in love with someone else, but afraid to let them know. They just want to get to a place where nothing else matters and be with them forever. All they want is to hear that the one they love has the same feelings. | |

| I like this song a lot. It says a lot as well. Ilove this band and it's just amazing how talented they are at writing songs. Besides, I'm tired of hearing songs about sex. Well this has nothing to do with the meaning of the song but oh well. This song's meaning is preety much self-explanatory so if you're smart you can figure it out yourself. Did I mention that I like ....love this song? | |

| This is such an amazing song. The lyrics almost seem to not be enough. I saw the lyrics, and thought, "Oh...wow...those are beautiful." But then I bought Origin, and I heard the song itself...and it BLOWS ME AWAY. The guitar solo always gives me goosebumps, lol. When I hear this song, I can almost see two people running away from a big town, hands locked and never looking back again. What I also see here is a "Before the Dawn" sequel, maybe. Both songs have almost the same meanings. However, "Anywhere" sounds more like Romeo and Juliet, as others have quoted here. | |

| THE best Evanescence song out of both cd's. I hope their style doesn't change now that they've made it big. | |

| I like this song because it sounds kind of like a Tears For Fears song. I especially love the harmonization. Very romantic too. | |
