So does anyone know what the Latin hymn in the middle is? All I know is that it's called The Morning Hymn and was not written by Evanecence. I've tried searching for it on internet, but can't seem to find it anywhere!! Please help, not even Evboard has it =(.

i completely agree with chino69, thats exactly what it means to me, i almost cry'd the first time i heard this song. having said that though, i have managed to keep a lot of the hope i had as a child, in a way im still a kid (im 21 btw) but i dont care, cos im happier because of it :)

From this song, I get that there is someone that has grown up to become bitter and cold towards others, and in hindsight, they are nostalgic for the days of their childhood, when they were more innocent and ignorant of the workings of the world.

i agree with emily_pnkflyd016 (and others who feel the same way), never download song from an artist you truli respect. i admit i download songs from artists, but never evanescence's, also amy isn't the onli one to write the songs. tourniquet was by rocky gray. My Immortal, Imaginary, Haunted, Anywhere, and Understanding were all written by ben moody. amy wrote going under with the help of ben. she did write hello by herself because it is about her sister who died at age 3 (amy was 6). she also wrote give unto me and solitude. john lecompt wrote forever gone forever you. ben, john, amy, and david hodges together wrote taking over me. i think we owe the whole band credit. ever one gives amy the credit, true she is an excellent vocalist/songwriter and stands out from the band because she is the onli girl n not many girls r in rock bands, but every member has contributed to their success.

This song is simply beautiful! I wish it made the cut on fallen because the emotion of it is so amazing. All of you Evanescence lovers who hasn't gotten a scent of this one, you have to absolutely listen to it. To me, once again the band has struck a chord in my heart, because I can relate SOOO much. Especially this one. Where as a child you could imagine so much, weave so much energy around you. I role played with other children. I didn't worry about reality's bite. I believed in love, hope, and the goodness that happiness brought me. I was innocent and I merely followed my heart without even as much as a single thought. Now, with the introduction to the system. The world of credit. Bills. Manipulation. And Violence. So much is lost within people. So many people have receded their very beliefs as a child and still there are others who completely gave them up. I'd give anything to run in green fields again. Give anything to to just lie down and look at the stars without in-as-much a thought on how I'm going to make it in life, or how I'm wasting time. Ignorance is such bliss. I believe it to be an uneven trade for your heart for the reality of life. So I decided to keep my heart. To keep my childhood innocence. To keep love and to know that anything can happen. It makes me stronger as an adult to retain the child within you. Thank you Evanescence, for once again revealing the sadness and more so what people lose when they grow up. Only if they choose to.

The song is about a girl who loved a guy. Fount love in other places.. ran away to this other love while leaving real love behind. Come to relaize she loved the first guy more than the second. Her hert kept searching for the sheer love and affection of the one she once had. In reality she knows she can't have this first lost love. But in mind, body, and soul is still grieveing for this lost phantom of her past. The reason why she did not stay with this immortal phantom. Is truly becuase her hert was already spoken to anothers. It all comes down to a love in flames, a love remembered, a love that was lost, and one that shall never be again. But only just a memeory away!!

emily_pnkflyd016 said: "should you give this amazing band a little more respect?? don't go and download everything, go buy the cd...geez..." but that isnt possible, the CD this song was on was released in a limited amount (2500 copies) and it's out of print, besides Amy has said that the band's fans are allowed to download Origin, the EP's and their demos, but not Fallen (and one song that's by Amy not Ev. that's called You and is a personal song that Amy doesn't want anyone to download)

there is a latin hymn in the middle of the song, between verses. does anyone know what the hymn says? (in either latin or english). the lyrics to this song are commonly listed as above but with [latin hymn] placed after the second verse, before the chorus repeats. i'd like to find the hymn, as it would add more meaning to the song. any help? p.s. yes - i love this song very much. love the lyrics and the meaning behind them. "i still remember the sun always warm on my back somehow it seems colder now "

I know I agree with Emily, why would you say Amy Lee is a genius and credit her with so much, and then tell everyone to steal the band's music? Makes no sense :(

^those are actually fake versions made from downloaded mp3's, even though they are factory pressed, Amy has said countless times that people should not spend a fortune on CD's that are most likely fake, if they want to hear their pre-Fallen stuff they should download it... if someone has the real Origin they would auction it off for atleast $100... and btw Origin has never been rereleased in any way, shape or form (and most likely wont ever be), all sellers that claim that they are selling a "russian rerelease with bonustracks" are selling fake copies I'm not trying to be a jerk... just way to many people have been tricked into buying fake CD's while they could've just downloaded the songs, and it's 100% legal, seeing that the band allows it :D

fields of innocence is from origin, which is no longer pressed. good luck finding it anywhere but ebay, where an original copy goes for upwards of $150. this is a beautiful song, by the way. i love basically all of their work, but this is one of my favorites.

This song deals with times where we long for the days of the past, wishing everything was as simple as it used to be. I think all of us can relate to this in some way or another, as is the case with most of Evanescence's songs. Oh, and yes, Amy has asked people to just download the old stuff rather than paying the huge prices on ebay.

This is one of the most amazing songs she's ever made. I'm an author and a psychiatrist, and both my patients and my characters can relate. And guess what? So can I. I think, in the end, everybody will be able to relate at least a little.
