Ok best theory that my love and i can give you is that it is about " THE END". The end of the immortal world. It is about the grieveing point of what you are leaving behind. The sadness and madness that takes over your soul, like a key protector from hell. It is about eternal damniation and the one chance destroy it all. It's about misconceptions and memories gone by. It is about levaing the past.. to be joined again in future times. The song has so many meanings.. some hiddedn messages that shall forever be kept. Some chanting yet haunting words that shall linger in the ear. Yet only be really head and seen with the heart. The main focus and point of this song was to talk about a past world that has come undone. That is my little aspect of this song!! P.S. I know what the chanting says... but really can't tell you!! Just open your heart and listen.

This is one of my favorite Evanescence songs. I use it before ballgames to get myself pumped up. Now, as far as interpretation, I actually took an entirely different perspective than I've seen here. Hear me out; It sounds more like a cry for help, help that can only come from a divine source. She's fighting evil, whatever evil it is is up for interpretation. It could be a game, a fight to the death, it's all acceptable, and she is at the point where her energy is giving out and she calls on God to give her the strength to continue. This is, at least, what I got out of it.

Wow! This is the second song I've heard of their, and the first one I've read the lyrics with. My friend introduced me to the band last night but I wasn't paying attention! I can see GOD moving ALL over hte place in this song. That fallen angels section IS VERY powerful. It's not often that I'm moved by song lyrics, but this is good stuff. Powerful music and GOD filled words. This band will GO FAR!! I can't wait to get the album.

Oooh this one's tough but I will try. As usual I'll use my life as a reflection for this song as it is the only thing I understand the most! It seems like no matter the road of the one aspiring to reach spiritual heights, it is often full of pain and suffering. There has been and still is a lot of pain in my life on my road to being a part of my belief and being a part of my destiny. It seems so bleak at times--life. "i'm frightened by what i see but somehow i know that there's much more to come" At first I thought this line to be that there is so much suffering that it frightens this person and that there is so much more pain. But now I see it as there is so much more after the suffering (as in good things to come) but the person must merely make a choice to will it away. "fallen angels at my feet whispered voices at my ear death before mine eyes lying next to me, i fear she beckons me , shall i give in upon my end, shall i begin forsaken all i've fallen for i rise to meet the end" I believe these lines to represent the suffering that is all around this person. This person appears to be very caring and has chose to fall to see all of this with his/her very own eyes. Now the person must decide whether to suffer with the rest or rise above. Well, I hope this helps, this one's hard to crack!

I latin chanting at the end is; SERVATIS A PERICULUM and SERVATIS A MALEFICUM. It can be translated to "Save us from danger, Save us from evil" or "Deliver us from danger, Deliver us from evil".

Well, a song dosen't have to have 'God' or 'Jesus' in it to be religious. I mean, look at 'Alive' by POD... many old hymns didn't reference to Jesus either... sheesh.
