I love how this song starts off sounding very sad but then all the sudden it gets happy.,..that part gives me goosebumps...I don't agree with you guys about this song being sad as well...but it's your opinion and you're completely entitled to it...I think the line I've completely lost myself and I don't mind relates to how she's lost the depressed person she used to be and now she's someone better...and she can't say no to this person because she's so in love with them not because they're supressing her...the part about the rain seems to say that she isn't used to something this good and she's waiting for real life to come back but it doesn't seem to be coming...this is one of my faves from the album

Abbers, get married. That's usually the solution for young people like yourself. Else, get dumped as that is the natural progression. Now about the song, this is a cool song. Wish I could play classical piano. That is something I'd want to do if I could sit for once... maybe after I climb Mt. Everest I will learn how to play.

i heard that this contains part of the "narnia song" that was rejected. if so, i don't see why the movie makers complained about it being "too dark"; it's the least dark song on this album.

I love this song. I can't say that it's all happy or completely gloomy, because it has a mixture of both. Anyways, I don't listen to Evanescence because I expect a dark sound or thrashing guitar riffs all of the time. I listen to Evanescence to hear musical and instrumental complexity rarely found in music anymore. I'm glad to hear something different every now and then. And as for Amy stealing the show...I don't believe that at all. The other members have plenty opportunity to add all of their parts into the rest of the Album. Though I probably would buy a solo album of Amy, it couldn't even compare to the whole sound of Evanescence.....Terry has some really great riffs in this album! Happy or sad, the song is simply a beautiful blend of Amy's voice and the piano. Just listen to the song before judging it by it's overall sound or mood.

Wow. I LOVE this song. Her voice sounds amazing in it. The piano at the beggining is great. I love how her voice goes all raspy on this part."cause I can't hold on to anything this good enough" When she is saying enough. =] I love it

This song never fails to make me think about my relationship with my ever so amazing boyfriend. To me, it's about actually being happy and content for once, and finding a person who actually makes you feel like you're a good person. But at the same time, you're scared, because you know you're making yourself vulnerable by loving them so much, and you've been hurt by doing that in the past. You keep thinking that things are going to go wrong the way they have before--"I'm still waiting for the rain to fall." And you can't help but wonder if you really deserve the happiness you've found--"Am I good enough for you to love me too?" But all in all...you're content. You're hopeful for the future. And you feel...like for once in your life, you're good enough.

I can't say no to you the people who are deeply in love or care about others very much can't always say no. it's so hard. it's as hard as it is to say goodbye. to someone you love so much. one of the best from the album. i love the beginning of the song.

I haven't heard the song yet, and I'm really looking forward to. From reading the lyrics, it seems like the undertone of the song's meaning is that she is afraid of feeling so happy, but she doesn't want to say no to happiness. After I hear the song I'll have a better contribution to my thoughts on it, I think.

i know that amy has called this a 'happy' song, but i agree with liquid spear that it still sounds somewhat negative. when she says 'i've completely lost myself and i don't mind' and 'shouldn't let you conquer me completely', it seems like she can't be her true self with him and is therefore giving herself up to be with him. so while she is happy with this decision, and him, for now, she knows that in the future it is something she is going to regret (otherwise she would have added the 'i don't mind' or something similar after 'shouldn't let you conquer me completely'). despite that, i think the song is beautiful and while i haven't decided what my favorite is on the album yet, this is the one that i've listened to the most. one of the reasons i love evanescence/amy so much is that unlike most of the other 'musicians' out there now, not only can she sing but she can actually play instruments and write and arrange music. the piano on this song proves that beautifully.

I think this song is about Amy's new beau, and how he makes her feel strong.

And good Amy singing as well. Where's the rest of the band though? This tottaly reflects the whole "Amy Lee Show" claim... You would have expected for a stronger presense of the other band members. But I don't complain. They know what they're into, and I guess that they don't exactly what they're involved in. I guess they like the fame and money... They're not doing anything that's "fake" and "plastic" or something, but still they don't fill their roles of real musicians in a band, which makes it a one complete piece. And I say this with bearing in mind that obviously, and usually, the vocalist gets most of the attention (especially when it comes in the shape of the attractive Amy).

Amy Lee's solo album is pretty good. 3/5 Time to wait for Ben's album, it should be amazing.

I've got to say I agree with Abbers on this. I'm in love with my best friend and this song to me completly reflects how I feel because of that. On the other hand I'm not Amy and I certainly never wrote the song so who knows it could be about abortion, aliens and diaper rash for all I know. Amazing song in any case.

It get's happy at the end. When she sings "and I'm still waiting for the rain to fall" it's get's happier at the end. The intro is amazing.

this is a very beautiful song. the piano intro seems familiar... anyways, i think maybe someone made her feel finally happy, so she feels like she could do anything for them. she's finding herself again, she's letting go of her love for pain, and she's scared but she's finally becoming who she wants to be, and she's a happier person because of it. that's nice, it's an uplifting song. =]

Amy Lee has said that this was the last song she wrote for the album, and it's the song that best represents her current state of mind. She said it's just about the only happy song she's ever written, and she was a little scared to show it to the rest of the band, but they like it too. To me it doesn't seem completely happy though... "I can't say no" suggests that she's sort of trapped in some way. Or maybe everything's so brilliant at the moment she can't be negative. Either way, I am sort of sensing a more negatove undertone to it.

I think this song is about loving somebody so much, and even though they hurt you sometimes, but still feeling as if you can't say no to them. I get the feeling that Amy Lee has fought for this person's attention and love...and has finally got them therefore the meaning behind..."I feel good enough".
