I listened to it. And i have to say this is one of the better ones. It makes sense that it is about her sister that died. I like the beat too

I definitely agree with Cho0xy21, Amy does deserve alot of credit for going through what she did at such a young age. My sister and I are very close, and every time I hear this song it pierces me, even to the soul to even immagine my sister dying. It would tear my world apart. I can totally sympathize with Amy on this subject. As for the song, I definitely believe that it blew "Hello" out of the water(even though that's another one of my favorites). If they are relating to the same topic. "Like You" has a more mature sound. The piano mellody haunts you even after you finish the cd, and the lyrics run through your head for days. Amy worked wonderfully on this cd, and honestly i can't get enough.

i agree with hoogli. i mean, i loove the lyrics on this one, but there's no real melody and her vocals are kind of unpredictable- it's going to be hard to sing along with at the concert. >.

"I long to be like you Lie cold in the ground like you.." - Think about it here: Amy said she had written the song from her perspective when she was 6 years old. With this experience at such an early age, she would've learned more about death than most people at that age - and realised that the dead cannot return to life BUT anything that is alive now WILL die, one day. (Which also explains the line, "And though I may have lost my way / All paths lead straight to you" - because she is so lost and confused and hurt by what happened to her sister, she figures that logically, the only way to be with her sister again is to join her.. in death.) For a 6 year old to be introduced to a dark theme such as this, involving someone who she used to be very close to, and especially since death is an experience that many adolescents or even adults have not dealt with at all.... You can't help but feel a whole lot of respect for Amy. The passing of her little sister played a HUGE role in her childhood life, and in the music she creates. You have to give her credit for getting through it all and coming out as the strong woman she is today.

So intense. I think it's less poetic but in a way more mature than Hello on fallen. The singing and melody is more mellow, thuse less powerful than on Hello, but the music itself and the vibe is a lot more complexed and interesting than Fallen.

yer i agree tt it must have been a terrible ordeal for amy..but remeber there are alot of young people who have suffered the same or similar thing and so although amy does deserve admiration for dealing with it...she's not tt special...but even so...does anybody know how her sister actually died?

Yeah I don't know whether to just say what this song is about, but seeing as how Amy has told the press, I think it's ok. Basically when Amy was 6 her little sister died (at the age of three.) This song is written from the perspective of herself as a child, feeling the emotions she did when it happened. It's wierd sitting in the silence after you've listened to this song - it really is a very moving song.

Defintally about her younger Sister. Like Evanescence's older song 'Hello.' This song is probably my third favorite song on the album. It's so deep & dark & sad. With pure meaning too. You're not alone no matter what they told you you're not alone I'll be right beside you forevermore Favorite verse

This song was written about Amy's little sister. Amy describes it as the "Hello" of this album. I think by reading the lyrics, and keeping in mind who Amy was writing them for, it's very evident what their about. A kind of love and missing of remarkable streangths. It's powerful.

i've heard soooo many evanescence song (every song) that this just feels like a remix of everything i've heard. i agree, this is the "hello" of the album. i've always liked how Evanescence combined major and minor chords. but in this album, they do it differently, so it sounds "mysterious" and somewhat like lacuna coil.

That's it. My favourite one. A must powerful song... When I listen to it, it's like something's moving deep within my chest... Deep within my heart... Il love the part when she says: "I long to be like you, sis Lie cold in the ground like you did" Somehow, it makes me sad, but the beauty of the song takes all the sadness away...

This song gives me the chills. I love Amy's voice so much. I didn't understand the lyrics for the first little while I started listening to this song constantly because I was so caught up in the tone of her voice and the music, but as soon as I caught "I long to be like you, sis" I knew what it was about. I then researched more into what the rest of the lyrics said. Definitely a very powerful song, one of my favourites on the album. The piano is quite awesome too, especially in the intro.

Funny, I got a Lacuna Coil impression from the album too. Not that it's a carbon copy in any sense, simply that Amy's incorporated a lot of the same elements LC use. "I long to be like you lie cold in the ground like you" Oooh, a suicidal aspect.

This song makes me teary-eyed. What would I do if I lost one of my siblings... Yet the song is very kick ass. Basically its about Amy coming to terms with her sister's death, yet she misses her so much, she wants to join her.

i wasnt aware that it was about amy' sister and her at a young age but when i first heard it, it reminded me of something my little sister sed when our great grandma died...that she wanted to die so she could be with her, it also reminded me of the situation with steve irwins death and his little son bob who sed the same thing...its a common feeling that children have when they lose someone they love....it is a very very moving song

This song is simply amazing. It made me cry, actually. When you here Amy sing, you feel everything she felt/is feeling. I never knew about Amy's little sister, but it's a very fitting song for this situation. I too think this is the "Hello" of the album. But, I like this song better than "Hello". It's more mature, more impacting. Less simplistic. When I first heard this song, I started to think about my sister and how she almost died. It scared the hell out of me. But, this song is exactly was I would have felt if my sister died. Beauitful.

i think the guitar on this album is a lot better than fallen's. but i don't think the melodies are as catchy. evanescence's old music stopped me in my track, but this is the kind of album where i could do my homework or something at the same time.
