A lot of people were requesting me to tab this song... and I thought maybe I couldn't
of the verses, but they turned out to not be so bad!
But god, I wanna let it go...

| This song is the "my immortal" of the album. Amy said it was. I agree it is the best song on the whole album | |

| I think this song is about being "in love with your sorrow" (like how Amy said she was for a long time in a kerrang interview.) I know the feeling, it's sort of like... you're afraid to be happy, because you've been sad for such a long time and you're so used to it, anything else is scary. btw for most of these songs I'm just putting what I think the song means to Amy... it doesn't mean I think the songs can't be interpreted in other ways. I just think it's kind of cool to have the "official" explanation early on in the comments. | |

| Love this song. Hmmm could this song be about Shaun? Or about Ben? Or about Amy herself? Saying how she enjoys being sad and depressed sometimes, and that she wants to be cured, Lithium being a drug to treat bi-polar disorder, hence the song title. | |

| This song is about loving and hating your own misery at the same time... She doesn't want to want to forget her misery although she doesn't want to deal with it anymore. | |

| I agree, is an incredible song :) Umm lots of people saying they miss hidden meanings and stuff .. looking over Fallen, I really don't see that many hidden meanings? Though maybe Everybody's Fool. Don't see much 'hidden' in Origin either ..? Oh well, I love the album, and am gonna buy it for sure! | |

| depression can be an addiction. if you're depressed long enough, it feels unnatural to be happy. i've been bipolar in the past. during that time, it felt like hell whenever i was merely content instead of manic or depressed. | |

| When I first heard this I didn't know that lithium salts were used to treat bipolar disorder. I thought that Amy Lee had gone all chemistry on our asses. Such a good song. Beautifully encaptures the mind of a depressive and the notion of "curing" oneself with medication. | |

| There's quite a few songs called Lithium. Can't wait for the video clip. I think Liquid Spears nailed the meaning. It's about being inlove with your sorrow. To me anyways, like Amy can see everything going on, all the shit, and she feels guilty because she likes it and likes the sorrow it puts her though, even though she doesn't really want to. That doesn't make sense i know but i can relate. One of the most amazing songs ever. | |
