I always thought of him talking to his girlfriend, and her talking back to him. And he's leaving her for another woman, or cheated on her with another woman and she found out. So she's yelling at him that she's leaving him, and he's asking "for how long?" 'cause he knows she'll come right back to him. That's why she says, "I'm so pathetic, you've finally made me see it" I love this song..

This is my favorite song on the CD as well not only because its just a plain outright amazing song, but I can relate to it. Summer came and gone and now I'm finally on my senior year wooooo! anyways someone I used to know came back this summer and we got together. It was an amazing time, and we grew to love eachother... not only that it was an emotional roller coaster what we went through... Summers love fades, today she leaves back to where she came and this last week we had an arguement, not through hate but aggrivation we wont get to see eachother ever again, after all we've been through. The love we shared seemed to have ended abruptedly. Its funny seasons come and go with no pain, but love leaves its mark...

I like the way this song sounds...lot. However some of the words are muffled. This song seems like it a guy who is trying so hard to move on from a relationship. He has "a new angel" but this song is not to her but its to an ex. I think the chorus is what he wants from his ex...who doesnt want the ex they long to be with to beg for them back? But then again I dont know...

I am an instant fan of Evan's Blue. I have to say "Beg" thus far is my second favorite song. My favorite is "Cold." This is an awesome song though. I am not sure of the meaning but a quick thought is that he is losing his dream love to a lesbian relationship? Or he is singing in 1st and third persons? Goodness, I have no clue, but you almost don't need to know. it is an awesome song.

OMG this song hits me hard I can relate so much, to me its all about a new girl in his life that is great and beautiful and what he knows he should want her and she is what it seems like everybody wants, but theres still this other girl that he knows is perfect for him and she doesnt want him and hes having a hard time moving on. "you better start to love her" is him talking talking to himself about the new girl. "and you left me so in love here, you left with so much hate dear was I creating only chaos—this world lives just fine without us…won’t you?" to me this is him telling the old girl that he doesnt feel that got closure and that hes still in love with her and he wants to let go and to be ok but he cant

does anyone else feel like theres two different people in this song he's talking about? the first being his new lover and the other being the girl that just left him? i feel like its more about the time when you break up with a long time partner and find a rebound. seems like he's trying to convince himself to love this new girl just to get over the old one.

Hey everyone...I had the chance to see EvansBlue and Taproot in Grand Rapids, Michigan just recently. EvansBlue is awesome. I got a copy of their CD given to me by a local radio station in Grand Rapids, and it rocks. It is a solid CD...all the songs are good on it. They are definately on their way to hitting it really big!!! Taproot rocked also and it was amazing to see both of them at the same time. Take care and have a good day.

I actually believe there are two parts to this song...1 where he is speaking to the girl that just left him and 2 where that same girl is speaking back to him...and the new girl is just a pawn in their love tug-o-war...he tells her he has this girl that everyone would want but he doesnt because of the effect she previously had on him..you made me so complete dear but you left me so alone here...the chorus is her speaking to him saying beg me and tell me how to love you like anybody else would i know your risking failure go run for cover you better start to love her...hes taking a chance in being let down again so shes saying go use that pawn for cover from being hurt but u better start to love her so that it works....and u left me so alone here you left with so much hate dear was i creating only chaos this world lives just fine with out us wont you? thats him speaking to her the chaos meaning by getting this new pawn but why should it matter to her wont you live fine without us? at this point the girl almost wants him to beg her to make her feel importan to him again or just important period...even so much as saying will it change your life if i change my mind...now are we this pathetic you made me finally see it..he saying basically that are we so pathetic that we are caryying this whole thing out like this...and she goes on to say im so pathetic you made me finally see it got what you want? im gone...if you really take notice to the pronouns YOU and ME evans blue is using them in two distinct ways to not a conversationg between one person to another...you can pretty much figure out the rest when you understand that...thats my opinion hope it helps a little o and I saw evans blue last night in new orleans at the parish house of blues and they were unbelievable...came out for an encore also...go see them and by their records and keep supporting this music and these lyrics that has all of us thinking!! 1 2 Next

hello =) this song caught my attention recently. i love matisyn's voice and it's composed quite well. it's also been nice to hear how the attitude of the song is so well captured. the impression i get is that he cares for this girl but she belongs to someone else. it would seem he's the one screaming ''you better start to love her" to this guy because he's treating her very badly. breakdown (this will be long, please bear with me): there's a lit cigarette in the hand of my new - she's blowing smoke like halos ~this line shows more than anything how he reveres her. even though she's imperfect he sees her as this beautiful being. and now everybody wants her, but i shouldn't even bother ~he doesn't think he's got a chance because you made me so complete dear, but you left me so alone here hang a noose for my new sinner somewhere everyone can see it ~he loves her, but she is with someone else so now he's alone. he wants to save her but he feels she's lost. now there's a whole wide world...that wants to know have cheap hotels lost their turn-on? ~it seems she came into his life through circumstances that would make one think she's less than anything worthy of real respect. but he's seen her, gotten to know her and now walking on people like that just doesn't work anymore. i don't know how exactly to explain that, just that the cheap motel bit is like someone to be looked down on. she's bathing in the neon and she's polluting all the airways while I'm passed out in the hallway ~more reverence. more imperfections (i take bathing in the neon as in that cheap motel with him) but he's still hanging on to her and wants to be close to her (passed out in the hallway) and you left me so in love here, you left with so much hate dear ~he loves her, but she left instead with someone who is very hateful towards her. the way his voice trembles kindof shows guilt along with resentment was I creating only chaos—this world lives just fine without us…won’t you? ~he's trying to get past this will it change your life if I change my mind? when she’s lit the whole wide world ~he loves her so much, he just wants her to be happy. the chorus i'm seeing him talking to her, like he's silently wishing she'd come to him so he could make her happy and treat her right. then he turns to her man and he's saying you need to learn to appreciate her or move on so she can be with someone who actually cares. the ''go run for cover" bit shows aggression to me, like he's ready to hurt this guy for what he's done to this girl.

Not too shabby, but the whole relationship theme is getting terribly old. And I also thought it was speaking about two different girls. I like the "you better fuckin' love her" line, though. It's as if he's forcing himself to get over his ex.

The main thing that makes me think it's about two different girls is the transition from "she" to "you" as though he's telling someone (whoever "you" represents) about "her".

I like this song very much... I think that when he says "will you beg me, and tell me how to love you". He's actually trying to know if his ex really loves him that much, if she would lower down her levels and ask him how to love her. And he can't deal with the fact that he's asking himself that question over and over that he chose to move on. And he's trying to feel the same way with his "new angel". But he can't. I think he still love his ex... He's wants to know if his ex would do that, lower her grounds and tell him how she really feels... I don't know.. either way i like the song...

I know how this song goes, the meaning and everything. Only change the her to him and it all good. Haha. Anyways.... To me it sounds like the guy is stuck on his ex-girlfriends who he REALLY loved, and now he has a new girlfriends becuase he did somethign that upset his old girlfriend and pushed her over the edge, "you left with so much hate dear", and she left him. I think that when he says, "won't you beg me and then tell me how to love you like anybody else would I know you're risking failure (risking failure) go run for cover (for how long)" he is talking to his ex, who he is still completely in love with. Then he tells himself "you better start to love her so much you're moving on and on" becuase he thinks that his ex wont come back, so he is basically stuck with his new girlfriend. Then his feeling of just being stuck and not in love with his new girlfriend seems to get worse and worse. And he basically is beating himself up and 'begging' his ex. And he says "I'm so pathetic, you made me finally see it" becuase he really realizes that whatever he did was really pathetic. "got what you want? I'm gone" She wanted him gone so he is, and then the begging coms back in again when he says, "for how long?"
