| I think its about a guy, who has a wife and a baby, and the wife gets raped, and Blake is their kids name. She wants to and tries to kill her self, and the guy tries to talk her out of it. And that he really loves her, and needs her. He says that the past shapes people, we shouldn't always remeber the horrible things that happen to us, but that she should use her past experience to help other people. | |

| I think the "Are the memories too hard to take* Rape is a word with a face" part is about abuse that the friend has taken like rape and stuff. I had trouble interpreting that. | |

| wow, these lyrics are really a mess... most notably, "Remember the place that direction you wake/And help save your generation" should be "Remember that Blake said to make sure you wake and help save your generation" | |

| The lyrics ARE a mess, but one of your corrections is wrong. It's supposed to be "Remember the place that you make sure you wake and help save your generation" | |

| I believe this is about a friend who is contemplating suicide, and he doesn't want the friend to do it, and says he'll always be there for him. | |

| this is how i see it. so theres this guy and a girl who have been really good friends since they were little kids. they got older, she was raped. a year has passed and she wants to kill herself. he feels like he couldnt handle being without her (as a friend only) because she is such support for him and i think blake is a mutual friend who said "make sure you wake and help save your generation" which is really good advice. i commend him | |

| the lyrics say "remember that Blake said to make sure you wake and help save your generation" I have the CD book right in front of me. also it is "are you feeling that you're on the brink, of spilling some RED in the sink". guaranteed lyrics! and this song is about suicide. On the CD extras Max Collins says that he wrote it about a friend that was thinking about suicide a couple years back. Solid facts, buy the CD, its awesome! | |

| I found this song really easy to interpretate, but then again my view is different from others. In my opinion, he has a female friend he cares alot about (not in love with, but you know how you care about your friends) and she has been through something harsh, obviously rape in this case, and from all the pain she feels from that incident she is turning to self harm and suicide. And basically he's trying to talk her out of it, and give her the better side of life that he as a friend can provide for her. He's recalling all the great times they had together and all the great memories they made, and saying that he'll always be there for her to rely on no matter what happens. | |

| First of all, like others said, these lyrics are wrong. He does sing "remember that Blake said to make sure you wake and help save your generation" and that's "red" not "rand". Anyway, so, I think this song is about a friend wanting to commit suicide, "spilling some red into the sink", because she's had a terrible year and feels that she can't deal with it. She got raped, "Are the memories too hard to take / Rape is a word with a face", among other things, and he's trying to remind her that she is loved and has people there for her, "I will always be here", and the past doesn't matter any more, "The past is just that", because the future is always there to look forward to and better things are always there. | |

| I think that his friend (whom I believe is most likely female) was raped and is now contemplating suicide. ("Are the memories too hard to take? Rape is a word with a face...") And now, he's just trying to show her that she is loved and cared about and that he doesn't want her to die. I really like Eve 6, they're pretty good. :) | |

| The line "Remember that Blake said to make sure you wake and help save your generation.." is a reference to The Jawbreakers, whose main songwriter was Blake Schwarzenbach. Their song "Save Your Generation," ends with the line, "A simple rule: Every day be sure you wake." | |

| Can't you all see through the flaws of the written song and listen to what this song is trying to say? My friend had me listen to this one night and it really moved me. It was insane how sad this is and every time I listen to it I cry... This shows true dedication between two friends and how it hasn't been easy but they still want to be there for eachother. Maybe you all should stop being so narrow minded towards the fact there are flaws in the type of the lyrics and pay attention more to the message that's being conveyed. 1 | |

| There are obviously many typos in these lyrics, so before i start, i'd like to say that where it says "rand in the sink" i think it's supposed to be "red in the sink." Red being a synonym for blood. As BD007h said, it's about a friend wanting to commit suicide and this guy is trying to stop her (at least I think it's a her). He's recalling memories to make her change her mind and when he says "You know we don't want you to go" he's backing up his argument by telling her that he's not the only one who wants her to live. And when he says "Remember the place that you make sure you wake*And help save your generation" he's telling her what she has to look forward to (kids and stuff). Great song! I always keep this on REPEAT on my iPod. | |

| Exellent interpretation sunshine. I had a friend who has attempted suicide on several occasions, she wasn't raped but I had a talk with her similar to the one in the song. she thought that no one cared about her because she really didn't get along with her family and was miserable. This is a great song and I urge anyone who hasn't heard it to listen to it. | |
