| This song is a really underrated one from Horrorscope. And along with "Girl Eyes" the only one that has no existing record of every being played live. I agree that the song is probably about masturbation or sexual deviancy of some kind, though it was a rush-job. During the recording sessions, the band made up songs as they went along, and you can tell that this lacks the real finished touches of songs like "Promise" or "Nocturnal" from the same album. 1 | |

| I think this is about the narrarator having trouble being the hero in real life so when he dreams he dreams he's perfect | |

| that makes sense for the chorus, but as for the rest of the song (and i'm not just trying to be a dick) i think its about masterbation. the rest of this comment may be a litte graphic for some. he says he's "gonna take a bit of a fall," so maybe he's catholic since some catholics consider masterbation to be a sin? he was dreaming of a naked woman, but was awakened, so he "assumes battle poise" and relieves himself. the "pull here, push me there" part seems pretty obvious to me. the "void" that his "toy" fills is probably the lack of a partner. he says he "inhereted a demon joy" which makes sense if he is indeed a catholic. the line "its a lonely time for yours truly, i know" also fits perfectly into this little theory of mine. however, i will admit that the chorus doesnt really makes sense for this interpretation. sorry if i grossed anyone out. | |
