| "Why do you have to be sloppy drunk just to say I am your friend?" That's it right there. The only satisfaction Art ever got in this song was when the person was intoxicated. It's when you've hit the point of realizing that you're the only one loving and caring in the relationship, but you're not giving up yet. Maybe saying "I would give everything you want/anything to you" will help, but likely it won't. This *has* to be one of my favorite EC songs. Too bad it's basically unheard of.
