| Wow 3 years later and my thoughts on this song are pretty much the same. Ridilan and Prozac are still being prescribed like crazy, my girlfirend teaches 1st grade and over 50% of the students in her class are taking a mood altering drug, it is really sad. Seriously, since when did thinking and expressing individuality as a child become a bad thing? At the rate these drugs are being given out, pretty soon all of us are going to be "complacent" and "sedated". And great quote socc rocket, I had heard it before, but I think it does sum things up perfectly. | |

| Well yeah i think it's just about how all these people have this view of what is 'normal', but it's just someone's opinion. And then if you don't fit into that someone's opinion of whats normal then bam you're on some drug like ridilan etc. And somehow it's meant to make you normal so you can be like everyone else. But i think the song is saying being different is who you are, you're unique. And the line "You are neurotic and depressed it doesn't mean taht you're sad" is saying yeah you're irrational, fixated and a bit down but it doesn't mean you need to be given drugs. 1 | |

| "you are neurotic and depressed, it doesn't mean that you're sad" I think that means that she even though she has depression, she is on so much prozac that she isn't sad. I think that this song is about staying off of meds and being yourself even if you are depressed. Thats how I take it anyways, and that's what I'm doing. Just being myself without any mood altering drugs. | |

| MetalKronic, I think you got it on this one! This song is my absolute anthem. To me, it kinda says that it's o.k. to not fit in. The people that conform to society are the ones that are really missing out. They are the ones that don't understand things, or have control over their lives. You are neurotic and depressed, it doesn't mean that you're sad -that's completely me. Another great Everclear song | |
