This is such a nice song. It's about beating depression and finding joy in life, even in the little things. He obviously has been through some rough times, but despite the disillusionment, he finds his own glimmer of hope in his daughter and knows things can only get better.

that and he's come to realize that he doesn't need to care or worry about what every one else thinks because he's got a great daughter, and from his rough childhood he can raise her right and learn from past mistakes 1
