	i think the song is telling the story of girls who used to be insane rebels growing up to conform to society...i find it sad actually how many people lose their edge, that one thing that sets them apart to become their enemy... i dunno maybe the girl in this song wanted to become a soccor mom.... i like it =]

	i love this song cuz its funny. i just bought their new cd "slow motion daydream" and it rocks. i love it so much, but still it isnt as good as "learning how to smile".

	I feel like the point he's trying to make is that in order to fit in in suburbia you have to give up everything that's important to you--you have to be bland and boring. In a sense, you have to sell yourself--it's another form of prostitution (mental and spiritual rather than physical).

	I can't believe somebody hasn't already commented on this song! The song just illustrates that female porn stars, in the general sense, become Volvo-driving soccer moms after they quit the industry. This song fuckin' rocks!!
