	A stalker's song!! "I'm walking down your street again/Past your door/You don't live there anymore/It's years since you've been there/Now you disappeared somewhere..." - Disappeared? Why? Because he's been spooked? "I walked behind and you would run..." - Self explanatory "I looked out by your house/And I could almost hear you shout down to me..." - To get lost, maybe? / "Where I always used to be..." -Stalking? "I asked why did I come again/Can I confess/I've been hanging around your old address/And years have proved/To offer nothing since you moved/You're long gone/And I can't move on..." - Confessions of a psycho stalker? Having said that, anyways, a great "mood" song. Can almost hear the train chugging on and on.

	I've always interpreted this song as being about a despairing girl lamenting the loss of her idol. Maybe she stood outside a filmstar or popstar's house as a girl tthen they died. The lyric "Like the deserts miss the rain" doesn't mean losing something you had but something you never REALLY had but wanted (The desert can't 'miss' the rain because it's never seen it).

	There is an important mistake in the lyrics posted here. It's important because it can strongly influence how you interpret this song. I don't think this song is about love. It's partly about a normal nostalgia and partly about an abnormal emptiness, an inability to move on from a certain phase in life and build one's life. I think the person who's being missed was part of a circle of friends. Google the lyrics for this song and you'll find "WE'D walk behind" in several places. I just listened to the song again and it's a bit hard to tell, but that has always been my interpretation because it fits better with "you always were two steps ahead of EVERYONE". The person from whose perspective the story is told always used to sit outside the house of the friend, and the friend used to shout down, I imagine something like, "hey, XYZ, what's up?" It strikes me as something that happens between friends, not lovers. I don't know if the friend was cool and the center of attention, with others latching onto that aura and therefore ending up alone when that friend left, or was just lively and organized (went to school and moved away?) "Could you be dead" suggests that the two didn't stay in contact, so the friendship was far less important to the person who moved away. Well, that's my two cents. While the electronic version is very good, the original is superb.

	A song about missing someone, nothig more. At least for me. A Serbian band Nightshift covered this song and it sounds real good.

	This song is SO awesome, it makes me just want to get up and dance, i luv it so much, it's so sad though. I don't think it's about obsession as such, but yeah.

	I wouldn't call it obsesion, as I define that as un unjustifiable grip to a past relationship. There's nothing in the lyrics to suggest that the feelings towards the former loved one are unjustifiable. I've noticed a lot of you, fellow posters, are quite young. Don't want to diminish your feelings, or past relationships. But as a somewhat older guy (31) I AM in the place this song describes. 3 1/2 years since she's gone, ond somehow still unable to really move on. How, an why should you move when what you lost wasn't just a good gal, a funny woman, but truly the one you wanted, needed to spend the rest of your life with? You eventualy (as I did) decide to move on, cutting all connections... but your heart won't follow. Sometimes you find yourself unconciously driving by where she lived. You don't know if she still lives there, has moved, or even died... single? married? divorced? with kids?... happy? It's not that it never rained in the desert, but that it did long, long ago. The desert yearns for the rain, and the comings years have proved to offer nothing that can compare. And the worst part of all... is that the song provides no hope... no hope at all.

	This is a great song. To me, it's about obsessing over a person that you were once involved with. The relationship is over, but you can't seem to let it go, or get the person out of your mind because you loved them so much. I have been there myself.

	This makes me think of Richey Edwards. If you haven't heard of him, he's the rythm guitarrist and lyricist in the manic street preachers. He dissapeared in 1995, and their bassist Nicky Wire (and lyricist, they wrote them together) was really close to him. It kind of makes me think of how I'd feel if my best friend since the age of nine, someone I'd done practically everything with, just vanished.
