Fastball is an American pop-rock band that formed in Austin, Texas in the 1990s. The band originally called themselves "Magneto U.S.A" but changed their name after signing with Hollywood Records.
Fastball consists of Miles Zuniga ( lead guitar and vocals), Tony Scalzo ( bass and vocals), and Joey Shuffield (drums). Jeff Groves ( bass guitar) joined the group in 2004.
Fastball released one breakout hit single, "The Way", in 1998. Other songs receiving significant radio airplay included "Out Of My Head", "You're An Ocean", and "Fire Escape".
As of early 2006, there are rumored plans for a possible return to the studio to record what will become the group's fifth full length album. In the meantime, the band tours every now and then while keeping involved in many different side projects.
