| I first heard this song as a background to steven garrard's heroic FA Cup final highlights, and although no doubt this song was written about how most hip hop acts arent 'real, I think it really fits in a sporting way. "This is ten percent luck Twenty percent skill Fifteen percent concentrated power of will Five percent pleasure Fifty percent pain And a hundred percent reason to remember the name", I think thats a perfect description fo how it feels to push yourserlf to the limit in a match! | |

| So Im pretty torn on this song. I love linkin Park and I remember thinking that Mike should have had more solos to take his hip hop abilities to their extreme. Everything Ive heard from fort minor is pretty sick, all the songs got that lower key undertone to all of them topped with inteligent lyrics makes them the kind you can listen to over and over. The thing I kinda dont like about this song though, is how hard it seems they're trying to "fit into" the hip hop scene. The video is Mike going around getting props from all these sterotypical black hip hop bling bling ish. And now hes cussing in his songs, seems like hes trying to prove that he is hip hop, which he shouldnt because he is. Finally its hella arrogant. All about "I dont want the spot light and look how humble I am...... but let me just tell you that this is so natural for me and that I could do it all day with ease blah blah..." I just feel like he could produce something more meaningful, like hes almost degrading his ability. Anyone with me on this one? | |

| it's just a generic "this is me" rapper song, like Eminem's Without Me or Jay-Z's PCA or Snoop's 'Snoop Dogg' or Dre's "Still D.R.E" - the list goes on. It's to try and get you to remember their names and give themselves an identity with their first song (or in Eminem's case, the first song off of every album, pretty much). | |

| This song has so much in it. The chorus is especially uplifting to me. Alot of kids today think that the way to be a great rapper is to just rap and they'll make it. They don't realize that there is WORK, PAIN, SWEAT, TEARS to get famous. He's saying that he has worked so hard, alienated people, stayed to himself, and worked hard. Writing, rapping and fine-tuning his ryhmes. | |

| Agreed. That's the whole reason Mike made this record. He'd seen tons of hip hop and rap records already and he wanted to do it his way. To create something new. He's just trash-talking other artists who care more about the money than the music. Just trying to get his own philosophy across. | |

| i think this is about 1. the coming together of fort minor and their projects and a percentage of what they went through to make the group... It's just ten percent luck Twenty percent skill Fifteen percent concentrated power of will Five percent pleasure Fifty percent pain And a hundred percent reason to remember the name 2. i think it's also saying that other rap/hip-hop artists havn't really got the right stuff but are still famous, but mike shinoda is a legend, he knows what he is doing, and writes lyrics with meaning. Whether it's Linkin Park or Fort Minor, Mike Shinoda will always... Kick Ass | |

| By far one of the best rap songs I've ever heard. It throws away the stereotypical 'gangsta' rap feel. It's really refreshing to see something new like this. Keep it up Fort Minor | |

| first of all, id like to say i dont listen to much rap, i cant stand most of it. i first heard this song during the Big East Tournament. i never realized they were talking about themselves til i actually looked up the lyrics. i always just thought they were talking about some random person, someone that you can model yourself after, the type of person everyone strives to be. i listen to this song to get myself pumped up before my hockey games. | |

| ^^ I agree, I heard this song and it made me buy the album. It does exactly what the song is designed to do, it gives you a feel for what he and the group are doing. I like how he breaks down the numbers, that's what having passion for music is, all those elements. | |

| I think this was actually written by them, but they aren't really complimenting themselves. I think I actually do remember reading somewhere that they wrote the raps for each other...I'm not sure. But it's got a nice beat. I like the beat of it. It's another rap song, yes, but unlike 'Fitty See-int,' this song seems to focus more on self-respect and the respect for the courage and strength they have to get through to were they are. | |

| I don't know how to feel about this song, yeah yeah not talking about guns and hoes. woo hoo on that. but its lame. everybody and their mother could talk about how hard they had it, and that it took alot to do what they wanted. i dont know i was just expecting a bit more from fort minor. | |

| ^ I hope you're kidding, lmao. I like how each person in the song (Mike, Ryu, Tak) each talk about themselves in third person. It would be cool in first person, but the third person kinda gives a feel to it, like they're talking about a different guy. Sounds cool. Also, is the background music strings? It sounds kinda like a cool way to use the cello or something, lmao. (Hey, if Miri Ben-Ari can get Fabolous and Kanye on a track with violin, why not give it a shot?) | |

| This is the first song I heard from Fort Minor at all. I heard it from lptimes.com WWWWAAAAAYYYYYY before the CD came out. Okay, it was only a month before the CD, but anyways. The Fort Minor CD, The Rising Tied, has so much meaning to it! Linkin Park and Fort Minor are the greatest bands because they have meaning (and it does'nt have anything to do with sex! so unlike other rap atrists of this time.) I like picking at the songs and listening over and over and over again to find the meanings to it. Well, anyways, this is the song that made me want to buy The Rising Tied. Peace peoples. No fighting ^_^ | |
