| Nelly Furtado is a sell-out. Changing to crappy music to make more money. Not that I liked her music before either...but c'mon...Horrible. And people just eat it up. | |

| if you've seen the video it becomes obvious that there is a positive meaning to this song. The video takes place in hell, and a girl is singing clearly stating that girls who marry men just for the money are bad and will end up in hell. | |

| I agree that this album is different, but I'd say her two previous albums were different from each other as well. I wouldnt want her to be exactly the same, or else I'd get bored. As for my interpretations, in maneater, nelly is basically presenting the "maneater" image that some girls have, and putting it in a bad light, saying that this isnt what makes a good person. Whether this is someone she knows or just girls today in general i dont know. As for promiscuous, i see that song as a "have fun" song. The song has absolutley nothing to do with promiscuity however, so the title is very misleading. It's probably more of a story than giving out a message, but it does give a message of "its ok to have fun". Not everything has to be serious ya know? But thats just my interpretations so meh... | |

| I really like this song. It's very much different from the folk-pop I've become used to hearing from Nelly Furtado. It's an interesting change, though unusual, it works. The song is clearly about a woman who just wants to be with men who will give her what she wants, a "pimpette" if you will. It's catchy as heck too, which is always a good thing. | |

| It's a bit different to her other stuff but I like it all the same. Oh and it's not a cover of the Hall and Oats song so you can't really compare it just beacuse it's just got the same title!!! | |

| i think dat unidude is kind of ryt. the maneater represented by Nelly has an unusual bad focus...but that still doesn't mean that the song is bad. I rlly lik this song although the whole maneater thing is not my game. unlike other music videos, Maneater can be rlly related to the idea of a "pimpett", without putting the woman playin it in a sluty lyt. that's partly y i rlly find this song so awsome | |

| I still like Hall and Oates version better. :-D This song like Promiscuous isnt really the Nelly style that Ive coming to really like. I hope the whole album isnt like this. If it is, I guess its just another stage of nelly. | |

| Wht a tune to dance to!! It was playing last night in a club, and I'm hooked. Heavy beat!! Fantastic! I've got a slightly different view on it...it's almost like she's satiring someone for falling for a 'maneater'...perhaps an ex? I just think this is emphasised from the continuous repetition of: 'you wish you never ever met her at all' so perhaps she's saying ha ha, if that's what you want, your welcome to it. Also: 'all you crazy people come and jump around you doing anything to keep her by your side because, she said she love you, love you long time' So they are running circles around this person, and then they are wishing they had never met them...so I do think she's mocking him! Just my view Angie xxx | |

| I don't understand why people think the messages behind Nelly Furtado's songs have suddenly vanished... Just look at the lyrics and listen to the tone of the song, she isnt playing this maneater person in a good light. The song, to me, sends a message that the type of person that this maneater is, isnt a good one and isnt someone you should try to be like. This is an image that is being portrayed alot in todays world. I think this and Promiscuous have clear messages, why am I the only one that seems to be seeing them? | |
