Home F Further Seems Forever Biography

Band Picture

Further Seems Forever consists of Chad Neptune (bass), Joshua Colbert (guitar), Nick Dominguez (guitar), Steve Kleisath (drums).

Further Seems Forever is a Christian alternative rock band on Tooth & Nail Records, formed after the breakup of the Christian hardcore band Strongarm in 1998. The band disbanded in 2006; it lasted seven years. It is often abbreviated "FSF" by the band's fans. Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional fame was their first lead singer, and continued with the band up until the release of their first album, The Moon Is Down. The other original members (Nick Dominguez, Chad Neptune, Josh Colbert, and Steve Kleisath) played in Strongarm until that band's breakup, and Kleisath was also a member of Shai Hulud, which has reformed with a new name: The Warmth of Red Blood. The actual band name "Further Seems Forever" came about while the original group members were brainstoming about what to call themselves. Since they were always on the road away from their loved ones and the time it took getting back to them seemed like forever, "further seems forever" popped into their heads and just stuck.

Right before the release of The Moon Is Down, Carrabba left to pursue Dashboard Confessional full time, leaving Further Seems Forever singerless. They are still on good terms with Carrabba, and even played a reunion show with him in 2005, playing the entire Moon is Down record, beginning to end. In 2002, Jason Gleason of the hardcore band Affinity joined the group as their lead singer. In 2003, they released their second album, How to Start a Fire to much acclaim. A year into Gleason's stint with Further Seems Forever, original member Nick Dominguez left the band to pursue a record label venture, Pop Up Records. He now runs that label with fellow FSF member, Derick Cordoba. Early in 2004, the band had a falling out with Gleason, sparking a heated and much talked about internet debate. In regard to what exactly happened, facts are scarce and rumors are plentiful, due to the band keeping a tight lid on the subject for personal reasons.
