Hanson Mmmbop Guitar Tab

Song: Mmmbop
Artist: Hanson
Album: Middle Of Nowhere
I have seen so many versions of this tab and I can never find one that is quite right.
seems to think the Chords are A,D,E but they aren't really on the right track. I tabbed
directly from Underneath Acoustic Live - this is EXACTLY what Isaac plays on the
Acoustic. If you don't beleive me try it! It's perfect! You don't have to rate it - I
just want a
version of this song somewhere!
Capo 1 (sometimes they do 2nd fret - but first sounds good aswell)
Chords used:
D - xx0232
A - x02220
G - 320003 (To make playing the song easier, play the G with your 2nd and 3rd fingers
the 5th and 6th strings with your 4th finger on the 1st string)
Intro:
D A G A
------2-------0-------3-------0-------
--------3-------2-------0-------2-----
----2-----2-2-----2-0-----0-2-----2---
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------| x2
It sounds pretty cool if you hit the fourth string aswell - Isaac subtly also plays the
and 4th strings together sometimes - sounds really good. To get the best results - just
the chords...don't bother trying to work out fingering for it. It's easy to just get the
between each chord.
After He does that twice he starts strumming
D A G A
Play the intro over the following lyrics:
D A G
You have so many relationships in this life,
A
But only one or two will last.
D A G
You go through all the pain and strife,
A
Then you turn your back and they’re gone so fast.
Start strumming at the end of this.
D A G A x2
Oh yeah. they’re gone so fast.
D A G
Oh, so hold on to the ones who really care,
A
In the end they’ll be the only ones there.
D A G
When you get old and start losing your hair,
(Strumming here is tricky - listen for changes in song)
Can you tell me who will still care?
D (hit the D once)
Can you tell me who will still care? oh care.
Chorus:
D G
Mmmbop, ba duba dop ba do bop,
D
Ba duba dop ba do bop,
A
Ba duba dop ba do. oh yeah,
D G
Mmmbop ba duba dop ba do bop,
D
Ba duba dop ba do bop,
A
Ba duba dop ba do
Second Verse is the same as the first.
You can play this with the elecrtic or acoustic versions - Acoustic sounds mad if you
with the version from UAL. Anyway if you have any comments email me at
Cheers!

The only thing part I remember clearly is the "Mmmmbop!" part, haha.. Oh, and one more thing.. was this song a cover? Or did I make that up in my twisted head?

Hey, okay first of all, I wanna say that I listen to punk. Ska. Emo. And Hanson. Hanson is a very talented band, and I'm sick and fucking tired of shit-faced "punks" or "metalheads" that believe just because Hanson released Mmmbop, Hanson should die. I bet they've never heard another Hanson song. Geez, people. You base your opinions on one freaking song. Give a listen to their new stuff. You probably wouldn't like it, because you're too "punk" to like something that isn't punk rock. I'm not saying that's what all of you are doing, but it seems like it. But I think that you would realize that they are extremely talented, just as talented as any of your favorite bands. Maybe not back in the Mmmbop days, but understand this - they were still preteens. I can see why you would pass judgement on them before you give them a chance. I'm guilty of doing that too. And even I can agree with you to some extent that this song can become annoying at times. But it still is good work for kids their age, and Hanson's style has matured and become even better over the years. So geez, you waste yer time bitching about a band you don't even like because you didn't like one song by them, give them a chance. If you still don't like them, then bitch all you want, and I'll be happy to listen because at least you rid yourself of your ignorance.

I love Hanson, which is pretty sad since I'm a big punk fan. But there is something irresistable about the Hanson boys. I'm only a fan of this album though, so, hmm. But yay for Hanson.

wow. this is like a blast from the past for me. i'm 17 now.. and i guess you could label me "punk".. though i dislike labels. i was a HUGE hanson fan. i think it lasted from about the age of 11 till i was 14. i put up with so much SHIT from people for liking them. but i never let it sway my opinion about them. I think in a way it actually changed my life. I could honestly give a SHIT about what anyone thinks of me now.. and i think that i have hanson to thank for that. Because MMMBop was their first single and they were about 8 when they actually wrote it, people judge it solely on the fact that their voices hadn't matured and that they had a different look and sound then most of the music that was around at the time. People will always be ignorant, and it's hard for some people to accept the fact that someone might like different music than them and they're too "cool" to try something new or give something different a chance. Okay, i don't really know where i was going with this... but THANK YOU -=TiedToTheTracks=- because i completely agree with what you said. ;D
