Hanson Strong Enough To Break Guitar Tab

CAPO 3rd Fret
All throughout the song the chords just keep on repeating on and on and on.. enjoy!
Strong Enough to Break
INTRO:
C9 G
I don't feel myself today
Em7 D
Just a figure in a big monopoly game
C9 G
Struggle is the price you pay
Em7 D
You get just enough just to give it away
C9 G
I'm sinking but I'm floating away
Em7 D
Throw me a line so I can anchor my pain
C9 G
The fabric is about to fray
Em7 D
The fabric is about to fray
C9 G Em7 D
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
C9 G Em7 D
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
C9 G Em7 D
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
C9 G
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
Em7 D
I start feeling the walls close in
C9 G
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
Em7 D
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Been running through my mind today
Scenarios to add to your hypocrisy
No one ever takes the blame
But everyone is searching for a cure to the pain
Nothing ever seems to change
Oh, nothing ever seems to change
We just play like broken records in a deaf man's charade
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Carry on just a pawn and the same old song
I'm still holding on
The fabric is about to fray
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
They rock!!

i agree and hope the band continues to sway from love pop and into deeper issues that they seem capable of. 1

yeah, to whoever called these lyrics "juvenile," is obviously a moron. sorry, but this is one of the few songs on the new cd where the subject isn't love and actually has a deeper meaning. maybe you're just a little too "juvenile" to understand symbolism. the new cd is good musically, but with the exception of this song and underneath, the lyrics are tragically mediocre. "this time around" was a step in the right direction. they started to write less about love and more about life. then we get this cd which is 90% love songs. i feel like these guys have so much potential. the music is right, the songwriting skill is there, they just don't use it. i wish they'd stop playing it safe with the love songs and write about real experiences more often. taylor's married with a kid for christ's sake, time for some new subject matter. [/end rant]

This song is about them splitting with Island Def Jam, I think. After I heard that, this song really clicked for me. I guess after the VH1 special I get it.

jessay, i agree entirely. i was very proud to hear this song and read the lyrics, because it shows what they're capable of. unfortunately, songs like "a song to sing" aren't happening anymore..

sounds like he's questioning the system. ("Just a figure in a big Monopoly game, Struggle is the price you pay") he starts to notice lifes misconceptions. ("Nothing ever seems to change","No one ever takes the blame") lyric corrections: ("Scenarios to add to your hypocrisy") and ("Carry on just a pawn and the same old song I'm still holding on") he feels used and tricked by the world. ("The fabric is about to fray") might be meant as a opposite to ("Nothing ever seems to change") it also sounds like he may be describing anxiety here. ("I start feeling the walls close in") as if everything hits him at once, and the rebellion may cause him to 'break'.

I love Hanson, but if these are the real lyrics, they can write a bit juvenile stuff. Monopoly?? hmmm.... but i do love this songs sound.

I think this song is about how much it sucks to be a corporate pawn. The whole "just a little figure in a big monopoly game" I think refers more to companies vying for a monopoly in the marketplace than to the game. I think the lyrics are pretty damn deep actually.
