with each note, then play a C(032010) and so on)
VERSE 1
Am Dm Am
There is no turning back, from this unending path of mine
Dm Am
Serpentine and black, it stands before my eyes
Dm Am
To hell and back, it will lead me once more
Dm F
It's all i have, as i stumble in and out of grace
CHORUS - continue F
C G F
I walk through the gardens, of dying light,
C G F
And cross all the rivers, deep and dark as the night
C G Dm
Searching for a reason, why time would've passed us by
vERSE 2: Am Dm
With every step i take, the less i know myself
Every vow i break, on my way towards your heart
Countless times i've prayed, for forgiveness But gods just laugh at my face,
And this path remains Leading me into solitude's arms.
CHORUS 2: continue F
C G F
I see through the darkness, my way back home
C G F
The journey seems endless, but i'll carry on
C G Dm G
The shadows will rise and, they will fall
Dm G
And our night drowns in dawn
Am Dm:
Ohhhhh,, woooaaa
Ohhhhh,,, woooaaaa
(something like that, listen to the song, you'll get it)
VERSE 3:
Am Dm
Amidst all tears there's a smile,That all angels greet with an envious
Am
song
Dm F
One look into stranger's eyes, and i know where i belong
CHORUS 3: continue F
F C G, F C G, F C G Dm G Dm
I walk through the gardens, of dying light,
And cross all the rivers, deep and dark as the night
Searching for a reason, why time would've passed us by
I see through the darkness, my way back home
The journey seems endless, but i'll carry on
The shadows will rise and, they will fall
And our night drowns in dawn
the shadows they rise and they, fallllll, yeah
and our night drowns in dawn... ohhh

| this is like my favourite HIM song at the moment. it is so cool, especially that instrumental bit at the end. HELL YEA! i think its about life and the journey that faces you and all the obstacles you have to overcome and all that jazz. the lyrics are so awesome. | |

| The music in this song is sometimes hard to listen to just because it's so emotional, and because you can hear all of the instruments distinctly AND simultaneously. As for the lyrics, I am alternately reminded of The Aeneid and Edward Scissorhands. lol | |

| this song really describes for me lifes ups and downs, and how we deal with them personally, also all the obstacles we encounter and how life is not an easy thing. Ville Valo is by far my personal favorite Songwriter, he knows how to put things into perspective in such an artistic way | |

| i know the reason why everyone can relate to it, it's because Ville Valo is singing about life, plain and simple, he just broke it down so poetically that everyone can relate to it, like in the beginning ,"there is no turning back from this unending path of mine" what that mean is that you cant go back to change the past though you may wish to, and it also says," to hell and back it will lead me once more" and that's just saying that you have hardships and...well there's no other way to say but also better days...and this chorus,"I walk through the gardens.. of dying light, and cross all the rivers, deep and dark as the night, searching for a reason.. why time would've passed us by." is the question we all have, why are we here...?and why is death a part of life...?so what he's saying is that life is too short, so live it while you have it...well i'm tired of typing, so with the rest figure out how to translate it...later... | |

| gah.. this song is such an inspiration for me. i just get a sense of never give up no matter what happens and how long the road seems, keep going. and follow it up with loves requiem and they make such a powerful duo. theres always hope, no matter how dark and lost you are, there is somewhere and someone you belong to and with, where you are accepted no matter what youve gone through or seen to reach it. very inspirational. Ville Valo = God of Lyrics | |

| I can relate to this song quite well. For me it is about an individual search for the place they belong, possibly spiritually, or just finding a path in life for them to follow. It could also be about coming to terms with a break up or the loss of someone close. The writer is resigned to follow the path he sees for himself, recognising that it'll take him through the darkest of places but he carries on because he knows that there will be light at the end of this dark path, 'our night drowns in dawn'. | |

| I think this song is about someone's long path going into the darkness ( possibly a crime or being alone or possibly even a drug addiction.) With every step I take, the less I know myself, -- They're doing some bad things that are out of character. Countless times I've prayed.. for forgiveness, but gods just laugh in my face. And this path remains, leading me into solitude's arms. -- He's tried correcting himself, but he just always goes back to his old ways. And if he keeps doing these things he's on his way to being alone. I see through the darkness.. my way back home. -- He finally knows what he has to do to fix everything so he can return to his loved ones. The journey seems endless, but I'll carry on. The shadows will rise and.. they will fall, and our night drowns in dawn. -- He's saying it's going to be hard, but he has to do it. and Pretty soon his darkness is taken over by light. (Bad is covered by good) One look into stranger's eyes, and I know where I belong. -- He hasn't been himself so when he gets back to his lover/friend. It's liek they're strangers, but he just faintly remembers what it was like before between them Yea. Judging from this song. for some reason the onyl thing that comes to mind is drug addiction. haha. I'm not quite sure why. Because that can make youi completely lose your sense of self | |

| This is a great song. Easy to relate to by anyone who has experienced a hardship in life, be it poverty or heartbreak. No matter what there is still that tiny bit of hope that keeps you going no matter how hard things get. | |

| this song is very appealing to me, i can agree that there is deep meaning in this song. my friend and i love this song so much that we have recently started making an unofficial video for this song. it's about a guy who starts his journey down the path of life seeking for the light of his life at the end. if anyone would like to know more about this please e-mail me at bretthim666@3mail.com i would like to hear your suggestions about what we could do. i think this is one of the best songs that him have done, but i can't decide which is the best because they are all so amazing! | |
